No I train Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday pretty much religiouslyBrehs do you go on long rest periods? I’m in the gym 3-4 days out of the week. Obviously I try to spread out the sessions by going out to the gym one day then resting the next before I go back, but my body has been feeling like it needs longer rest days than usual.
I’m going to go to the gym today even though I still feel somewhat sore/heavy in certain areas of my body. I haven’t been there since Thursday so I should be good. But I can’t stop thinking about this tweet I read from former WWF/WWE wrestler Taz and basically he was advising everyone to give their body the proper rest it needs to omit any long-term issues. Taz reflected all the times he went hard af in the gym when he was tired/sore and now he can barely move his body.
How do you guys approach rest? It’s essential to building muscle anyway.
I got tired at looking at answers on Reddit and other gym sites where the typical answer was 2-3 days rest.
Your goal is your goal.Need to focus on strength. Worried so much about reaching a target weight and physique. Achieved that goal but now I wanna be moving hella plates
Your goal is your goal.
I would just say...if training is a lifelong pursuit, the strength will come over time. Be careful about lifting heavy weights for the sole purpose of lifting heavy weights. Especially if you want to do so quickly.
It's like they say about the Mr Olympia....the judges look at your body. Nobody cares how much they can lift.
But again, there's nothing inherently wrong with wanting to be strong.
I just hope you don't get hurt or tweak something. Gym injuries are the WOAT.
Your goal is your goal.
One thing that can help is if you're at a plateau, maybe increase your protein intake.Net net, on this current trajectory, I should be about 30lbs down this year. Next year I’ll still have a bit more to cut but the main thing is my progress has been sustained this past 2-3 months.
It’s a lifestyle change but that really started clicking for me since the middle of summer. No more false starts. Cutting the tree has definitely been one of the best ways to keep consistent.
