Mississipi birthed some legends
Muddy Waters
Howlin Wolf
Albert King
BB King
Son House
Hubert Sumlin
and im missing countless others
Da hell was in that water?
You're missing people like this:
Robert Johnson
Charlie Patton
John Lee Hooker
Elmore James
Sam Cooke (GOAT singer)
David Ruffin (GOAT lead singer)
Jerry Butler
Bo Diddley
Ike Turner (Despite the fukkery, he was a rock pioneer)
Charley Pride (GOAT Black country singer)
Jimmie Rodgers (GOAT cac country singer--cacs don't want to admit it, but he learned from Black folks)
Elvis
CL Franklin (Aretha's pops and legendary singing preacher)
Pops Staples (Patriarch of the Staples Singers)
Olu Dara (Nas' pops and jazz musician)
Basically, Mississippi brehs laid the groundwork for basically everything we know as modern music.
It's a shame we as Black folks don't invest in Mississippi in large numbers. That state should be ours. We should own all the land in that state.
