Anyone who wants to watch a great performance of his you might have missed, Homicide finally got to streaming on Peacock after years in limbo and the 3-part Season 6 story "Blood Ties" he guested on is phenomenal. I've never heard the phrase "Puppy love" delivered with the menace and distain he does here.

Ike wrote Rocket 88 in 1951, which is often cited as the first Rock n Roll record. He considered the record R&B, but said Rocket 88 was the cause of Rock n Roll's existence.​

That he did but he's often left out of the conversation with Little Richard, Chuck and now thanks to social media Rosetta Sharpe being placed at the table with Ike being conveniently left out in regards to the creators of that Rock sound that's falsely equated with that jittery white boy and it angers me, something fierce.​
