Lol @ the excuses for not working out in here. Y’all lazy

That said, for strict weight loss, calorie deficit is the most important thing. Burn more calories than you eat.

An Oreo is 53 calories. For a 200 pound person, that’s about 5 minutes of exercise for something you ate in 15 seconds, so the diet argument is correct.

If you want to look and feel GOOD though, exercise. Stop being lazy.

yall are in here having two different conversations and of course the conversation becomes very different for someone like her who needed to drop 20-30 pounds (either approach would be fine) vs someone trying to drop 60+ (adding in resistance training is going to make them look a lot better)

That’s not the point. If we’re simply discussing weightloss, you don’t need exercise for that.

You don't, but it's the better route than sitting on the couch and eating 1500 calories a day. And if you really want to be nimble, exercise is always it. The strongest elders always seem to be those that do some type of exercise or manual labor.

:snoop: People, this is wrong.

Stop focusing on calories and weight. A chiseled boxer can weight the exact same as a skinny fat dope boy with a lean (the drink) gut. Gucci Mane is a great example he didn’t just ‘lose weight’ (probably didnt lose that much at all) . He changed his entire body composition. That’s diet and exercise

And Diet does NOT refer to calories it refers to the types of food you eat. Heres visuals, 40 examples of people weighing the same but looking drastically different

You are correct.

Again- the argument was that exercise isn’t needed for weight loss. Which is a fact.

If you are injured and can’t work out and your doctor or nutritionist gives you a modified meal plan/program to maintain or lose weight while you aren’t able to work out— You will drop pounds.

That’s my only point.

He's right though. If she didn't change her diet she'd look the same. On the flip side she could have changed her diet and not hit the gym and looked better. It is what it is.
False. She wouldn’t be as slim as she is now, but if she continued to exercise, she would still look better than if she did nothing.

If you operate on a caloric deficit for 3 months will you lose weight? That’s all that’s being said.

Not saying you’ll look desirable, but you’ll lose weight. Some fat, some muscle. That’s literally how science works.
