Sounds like a PC player problem and it’s hilarious how nobody cries about the lack of Nintendo presence on PC :mjlol:

And who cares about walking simulators and movie games right, when y’all can live out your aviator fantasies 🤣🤣
Right. So much ruckus for games allegedly these folks don't care about. All just to stand on some foolish "stan riling" talking point. Smh.

Nintendo is ass backwards. They aren't doing PC gaming period. Most of their target audience DGAF about a gaming PC either.

Yep, you aren’t spending a ton of money in their ecosystem but you are contributing to brand awareness. If you buy a ps5 and only buy first party games you contribute to mindshare of the playstation brand. Even someone walking in your house and seeing this huge white tower on your entertainment center helps them. Thats something people don’t think about.

If you are spending money on sony products you are increasing the value of playstation
Sony stans :mjlol:

sony is already good in the console space. i dont see anything wrong with their approach if people are going to buy the software, within any window.
and i dont get how that could be positioned as a negative thing. like damn breh, burger king wont even sell their customers hot dogs.
want day 1, buy the hardware. the shyt is vital to their business.
spencer already said out of his own mouth that they fell behind that arena and shifted focus, so the day 1 PC thing makes more sense.

i really wish MS would *pop* its damn head out of sonys ass

If you are spending money on sony products you are increasing the value of playstation. Playstation game ports are basically late stage promotional ads for the brand, not a way to make billions of dollars selling old games

You’re literally saying the same thing as me. Yes, sony makes most of their money through their store, they increase attention to their store through selling old games on other stores, like Nike
The PS4 sold like what 117 million? Xbox openly admitted they sold less than half of the PS4's sales with the Xbox One. If we give them half. we're around 176 million combined between the two. The number is actually less than that though.

PS3 sold 87 million Xbox 360 sold like 84 we're around 171.

They're making money selling DLC and extra content. The number of people willing to buy one of these 2 companies game consoles has stagnated over the last 18 or so years. The real question is which one do these customers buy. Selling someone a PS5 and having it sit and collect dust other than when a PS5 exclusive drops isn't all that great. How many game on a PC and won't buy a console but would buy those games on their platform of choice.

When it comes to taking gamers away from Xbox Sony has maximized that. The pool of potential console customers isn't really expanding. The customers willing to buy Sony exclusives on PC are primarily not console gamers and don't desire to be. They won't kill their brand dealing with them day 1.

And with less people buying Xbox’s they will just instead buy playstations, so they will potentially sell 150 million this gen if microsoft only sell 40

I’m guessing some of y’all didn’t know or weren’t old enough to remember waaayyyy back in the nes/sms days, Nintendo paid devs not to make games for Sega. Hence there’s only one Mega Man game Sega Genesis and a slew of other titles never made it

These practices have been going on far before Sony and Xbox

It's doing them no harm in doing it how they're doing it right now. PC players just gon have to wait. Ya'll really overstate the PC market's purchasing power anyways. It's only right that console manufacturer's treat that line of business as secondary, if at all.

even with that, there is an install base that needs to see value. maybe it would not kill them, but it will diminish value in the hardware without question.
we may never see the effect of that but i bet it would at least hurt

That install based is already upset. Every time a new sony games is announced for PC the staunch sony fans get upset. They will be alright tho. Everybody else DGAF

If I waited 2 years for a game and it comes out at full price 2 years later I can keep waiting until it's dirt cheap. How many people are they losing out on that would have paid full price on release day but years later are patient enough to wait for massive price drops? Ratchet and Clank is $30 on PS5 right now. I'm not paying $70 for that same game 2 years later. Some will but the majority probably won't.

Okay, but YOU aren't the entirety of the audience. There are still folks out there that waited on PC releases because it's their preferred platform, or don't even have a PlayStation.

Judging by the sales numbers in some of these rereleases, there seems to be a a decent audience of people willing to pay $70 when the game hits PC. And even if they end up waiting for a sale, that's still another pool of people paying for the game that weren't before. Judging by the gap between console and PC release, I'd wager that most of the PC ports are essentially paid for out of revenue from the console release, so it's not like preorders and launch window buys are as crucial.
