Thanks to the lawyers uh, I marbled the foyer
Yup, #1 Sony must follow what last place Xbox does
If you buy a Microsoft game day 1 on Steam then Steam is getting a cut of that purchase and DLC. That by far is the most popular PC storefront out there.
2 of the best things Phil Spencer did was finally stop blocking cross platform multi-player and making all their games available day one on PC including on Steam. They fundamentally understand that PC gamers who don't already own your console aren't interested in buying your console. They are still interested in buying your software and you should treat them like valuable customers and not some second tier customer garbage.
Because sony double talks to their fans.I'm not sure I follow this logic. Any time a Sony game gets released on PC, the floodgates open with people calling PS5 owners beta testers and whatnot.
Because sony double talks to their fans.
They advertise PS5 as the exclusive place to play all these great and amazing games that are best and only on PS5, just to turn around and releases better versions of the games on pc cheaper and sooner than once expected.
They are training PC players to not be excited about their games as they will come eventually and go on sale very quick.
I think sony knows the inevitability will be day one games on PC. They just gotta toe the line for their fans right now as they ease them into being on with the new reality.

Sonys approach is still evolving. Just a couple years ago they wouldn’t even commit to saying any of their future games would come to PC at any time. But all this assumes that either approach is definitively right or wrong. Both approaches seem to be working for their respective companies, so that's all that really matters.

They are easing their way into it one probably for technical reasons as they build up their studios abilities to even make PC games, for Two they don’t want to alienate their fans.
It’s clear to everyone involved they are two separate markets.Naw sony is trying to sell hardware and trying to sell software on THEIR hardware not paying a bunch of 3rd party vendors 33% of their cut AND have to deal with piracy. Its about controlling their games with their narrative, same thing Nintendo does. It’s less beneficial for sony to do day one pc releases, it has nothign to do with their “fans” if they could find mroe “fans” on pc willing to pay more for their games they wouldn’t give a shyt about playstation.
You can’t sit here and say that Starfield is about to sell millions of copies on steam and not think making that exclusive to xbox wouldn’t move millions of Xbox’s.
The economics just don’t make sense for sony, they have no large stake in the PC market. They don’t own any storefront on pc and they don’t have any stake in the operating systems.
You do realise you’re dealing with an insane xbot, right? But all this assumes that either approach is definitively right or wrong. Both approaches seem to be working for their respective companies, so that's all that really matters.
That’s to make you feel good. Same as “we belive in generations”They’ve literally said the opposite
PC ports of PlayStation titles will launch 2-3 years after initial release - KitGuru
With the PS5 generation, we have seen Sony take an interest in the PC gaming space, having ported awww.kitguru.net
Anyone thinking sony will release pc day one for their single player games are going to be waiting a very long time. If anythihing TLOU part 1 probably pushed those plans back even further

In reality 3/4ths of the 1st party games shown off at their show are coming to PC day one. It’s clear which direction this is all heading
That's fanboy babble. There are people that prefer to game on a console and ones that prefer to game on a PC. They're separate.I'm not sure I follow this logic. Any time a Sony game gets released on PC, the floodgates open with people calling PS5 owners beta testers and whatnot.
The simple answer is that Microsoft views releasing on PC similar to how studios were treating movies during the pandemic when they were dual releasing in theatres and streaming: hit all possible customers as soon as possible. Sony views PC similar to how studios do it now, and before the pandemic: the home audience is a different audience than the theatre audience, and they are best served by possibly shortening the window between the two releases, but there being a separation still works best for both markets.

If you prefer to game on a PC and own a console chances are it's for probably for access to exclusive games and outside of that you aren't meaningfully contributing value to their ecosystem revenue because you game on a PC when you can. If you're gaming on a PC and don't already own a PlayStation you aren't interested in buying one. You ain't gonna play a 2 year old late game that was praised and critically acclaimed years ago when it was released then change your mind.
