watch the clip I posted; they're talking about NUYORICAN powers that be, being against the music

Yes and older Jamaican people HATE dancehall.
Same thing with rap and many elderly Blk Americans.
Same thing with Ricans.

Same thing with YOU AND I concerning drill music.
Well I personally think drill the worst shyt ever.

That is a human condition sir.
Hating on the youth.
Hating change and that which is different.

Stop being slick.

:mjtf:WE KNOW THIS.

BLACK CARIBS ARE GETTING
THE SAME SMOKE AS RICANS.

Yet Black caribs like Red Alert and others played a role in it and the youth in their neighborhoods embraced the new counterculture that was hip hop.

That's how it works.

New Black American Artform ---> Counterculture --> Non Black American Blacks and Rican youth embraced the culture.

Anyone say it wasnt?

Stop creating answers to arguments no one was making.

He's just gonna keep going in circles with you. He doesn't elaborate on anything. He just keeps doing the "What I say is right, even if I'm going off topic to deflect." He will never acknowledge you if you make a good counter point. Watch how he will deflect and deviate from a good counter point u make by jumping to another topic. That's his style.

Exactly. Dancehall was a threat to their past norms no different than Ricans embracing Black American elements to their music bothered older rican musicians.

You keep talking about this black/latino Disco unity/collab,
And I said NOTHING about Latins creating disco. YOU did that bullshyt. :childplease: I simply gave a demonstration of Black and Latino unity in this city to push an art and an example of it being that label. How Ricans here didn't have a problem embracing Black American music.

So YOU are the ones heads are riding in here as making good arguments?

YOU who can't get it? :mjlol:

Wars have been fought over folks feeling like they losing their culture.
It is a very touchy topic.
Which is what this WHOLE thing is about.

The thought that someone is trying to steal from blk americans.

Guess they never heard the joke that Nuyoricans do not know spanish.
Guess that is also why the rapper 69 seemed so strange.

Most New Yorkers are used to wild puerto ricans.
Also why Fat Joe seems strange.
There are tens of thousands of them.

In fact a whole lot of the God Bodies, are Puerto Rican.
Think the biggest God Body in Brooklyn a Rican.

By the way, Nigerian Ricans is quite interesting, friend.:jbhmm:
Bruh....Yoruba people were brought their and Cuba. You had some Yorubas on both islands RETURN to Nigeria in the late 1800s.

Ricans worship African God's while carrying colorist and colonial baggage.

No one is STUPID enough to think Hip Hop would erase that other than buffoons in here.

And when Bob Marley grew locks the folks who loved him when he sang motown music, hated him then.
That is normal and regular.

These places had slavery sir
They still have power structures of racists sir

Yes the racists will always fight against anything blk

As with WHITE AMERICA, the youth choose what they want to listen to.
And the youth will always choose unity.

Even today, my white neighbors, the kids LOVE drill music.

What you proving, that there were elderly musicians and racists in puerto rico against rap music?

First of all, You mentioned SalSoul (Disco label) records because you THOUGHT that represented some type of unity between Blacks and Latins. I"M TELLING YOU that, that term came from Joe Bataan WHO IS NOT Latin. Secondly, SalSoul was made up of Philly Soul musicians, none of them were Latino. So with all of that being said, where was the collaboration between the two groups?

You know many parts of Puerto Rico are more AFRICAN than much of Jamaica right?
Holding onto African beliefs and customs more so than many Jamaicans right?
Are DARKER in complexion than many Jamaicans right?
You obviously aren’t able to comprehend my message
Even the very Puerto Ricans he’s trying to shoehorn into some integral role in hip-hop wouldn’t even have their very “own” genres if it wasn’t for black people.
What the hell do you think I’m saying here? Lol. I’m talking about the Afro-Latino’s who are descended from the enslaved Africans who were actually integral to the cultivation of music in Latin America. Same as in Brazil, Cuba, Colombia and every where else where black people inhabit. Black people are the common denominator.
