So does this film have a chance of hitting the billion dollar mark? Because if so I think that would be the first movie to never hit number one actually hit the billion dollar mark and that would be kind of amazing.

Very unlikely, but it still may beat Bohemian Rhapsody as the highest selling biopic in cinematic history if it makes it passed 900M.

breh they spent an entire hour on the trinity test itself. Next time you can just hit back or walk out the theater after the shockwave. The spectacle paid off big time, and the acting in act 3 was pretty incredible.

Personally, I appreciated seeing how the bomb impacted him, how he was defamed and lost his credentials, and the payoff of his conversation with Einstein. You're not WRONG since its all subjective, but this shyt is pretty uniformly loved.
I dead ass saw some clown walk out after the bomb testing and never come back on my second watch :mjlol:

Didnt really like the 3rd act. Given what the movies about I think it should've focused more on the bomb(s)
people like: "i can't believe you expected to see bombs going off...they didn't promote it like that"

they dedicated an entire fukking hour to JUST the bomb buildup, and like 20 minutes on the test and explosion :dead:

did you all want a 3 hour explosion compilation?

I think at this point some of you just have shytTY taste in films, really. Too much dialogue in a biopic about a SCIENTIST :mindblown: god forbid a team of scientists explain nuclear fission...

I'm laughing because people like are going around saying "what did you expect, explosions"...and i'm showing you that the official marketing was 90% explosions. Casual movie goers were marketed something. There were marketed a huge explosion in imax. What we got was AN explosion that was underwhelming, and solid first hour and a half, then a bunch of people yelling in backrooms for an hour.

thats absolutely not what we're saying. We're saying that 'not enough explosion, too much talking' is a childish and ridiculous take. For a 3 hour christopher nolan movie about a scientist. And LMFAO @ the explosion was underwhelming. Yeah, i'm done with this exchange. Here ya go buddy:

you're still saying the same thing.
"what did yall expect?"
vs the actual marketing

they marketed the explosion to casual movie goers, not the 3 hours of talking. And i'll say this again...I LIKED THE ACTUAL TALKING FIRST HALF OF THE MOVIE. The stuff with the scientists, the town, Opp vs Groves was good and good story telling. And i was cool if they wrapped it up when the Japan bombs were announced. I have no problem with that happening off camera. I actually wish they went heavier into the science, that was interesting.

I feel like they did. I don’t care because i just wanted to see 3 hours of Nolan/Murphy. But from watching the ads felt like the whole movie was about the bomb. But would have been corny if thats what it is.

I loved the movie. But i agree they were deceptive with the marketing. I dont feel mislead because Nolan/Murphy was day one no matter what. But what do you expect how else would they trick the idiots out their money loool
