It appears that I was wrong on this one, but it makes sense since Michael Caine is 90 and has had a number of health issues in the last few years including spinal surgery. That scene in Tenet, where his character is even named Sir Michael, seems more like a poignant farewell now. This is the first Nolan since Insomnia to not feature Michael Caine.

caine is in this new film

he spoke about the passing of glenda jackson

What is the whole christopher nolan shyt I see everywhere in the movie title about :what:

What is the significance of including the director's name in the movie title

It's weird as fukk. why stop there, let's also include the producer, writer and special effects technicians

Avengers by Russo brothers, written by stan lee, special effects by some graphics nerd from taiwan

And so what:unimpressed:, it's some weirdo slash egoistical shyt

The real heavyweights like Steven Spielberg,James cameron,George Lucas et al don't go around including their name in the title

they do.

but unlike nolan they avoid repetitive crass hackneyed in-your-face self-ingratiating odes to intelligensia ...

"ohhhh the date is clicking just like a geiger-counter".

"ohhhh tenet is the same spelt backwards".

"ohhhh the last scene reveal is soooooo consequential".

"ohhhh face-still conveys emotions".

"ohhhh oh so clever science"

we get it chris ... you are really really clever :hubie:

maybe a case for more show and less tell. he needs to turn down the volume on his obvious-isms.

villeneueve, ridley scott etc don't try so hard to show us how clever they are, while simultaneously effortlessly doing just that.

it's like Scorsese with the gangster-isms. Tarantino with the wisecracks.

these things work most of the time but when overplayed they suggest hubris and seem repetitive.

nolan is good-to-great but he risks becoming a parody of himself. like tarantino and Scorsese to become a great Nolan will have to transcend himself i.e. grow up.

on a related note, compare black hole discussion in event horizon with interstellar for entertainment value.

i should add ..

chris' energy flow in his movies seems all so bottled up to me.

stuttering, ungainly and socially constipated. unable to relax and just be.

emotionally it's the character that hugh-grant plays distilled into a movie.
