1. Poor school infrastructure goes back to a low tax base which is low due to fewer black businesses in a Black area because Black people gave up their own economy in the 60's to give their money to white businesses.

2. Parents who care about education goes back to the decision to end segregation. If there's no reward at the end of the journey (Jobs with Black companies since whites don't want to hire you) then why go towards the goal to begin with? And if Black parents can't help you because they have to beg whites for jobs and can't employ their own children then why would they value education?

3. Cultural attitudes go back to the reward theory. If there's no reward for valuing education then it won't happen.

4. It's probably impossible to have segregated (or integrated) Black communities that prosper because just like before, whites will undermine them with economic sanctions and continual interference to undermine their attempts at success like they would for another country that they're hostile towards. Which is partly why Asians are able to succeed and Black people can't. Cacs leave them alone so they get to develop in peace.

Gotta start practice exams and classes in middle school.
They don't condone it. I got fired a long time ago from being a college tutor, because I set up an SAT prep class for them after they kept pestering about it. Even back when I had to take them, I had to beg my mom to buy me the book and set up a couple of sessions in my crib because my school refused to even give us space to do something. This turned to shyt immediately cause everyone just started to fukk around, because bytches were willing to come over.

Unless they broke it down by school district instead the whole state you won't see the real picture

Nearly every black school is in the hood, where students have to walk through metal detectors when they enter, have old ass desk, old ass books, old ass everything

poor nutrition, and dealing with life problems that come with living in poverty, and you expect these students to be able to concentrate in school, especially when they have teachers who don't even want to be there
This is correct. I went to one of the "ghetto" schools in Lithonia, Georgia back in 2011. I can tell you for a fact that the majority of the teachers were LEAGUES better than the teachers that I had in Alabama, and the students were MUCH smarter and cared deeply about academics, but as most kats know, oftentimes black students get dealt a bad hand.

That school had books from the 90's, damage on the interior, and straight hoodlums running amok, but a good 90% of the students strayed away from the hood and were exceptionally bright. They were teaching topics in the 8th grade that I didn't learn in Alabama until my Sophomore year of high school (grade 10).

Petty Vandross.. fukk Yall
This is a complete bullshyt. I got higher than this in the mid 90's (yes :flabbynsick:) before all this test prep nonsense. Either you know it or you don't. Stop making excuses. There is free test prep online if you think it makes that much of a difference. The fact of the matter is that we aren't taking our children's education seriously because we have internalized inferiority and are afraid of competition.
Ain’t no way you nikkas proud to be black or are actually black
You treat every black man, woman and child as a monolith and leave out all context
You nikkas sound like whole crackers with this rhetoric and try your damndest to act like actual systemic racism doesn’t influence or give a slant to these fukking statistics
This is why I say you nikkas are fake and not problack and you damn sure don’t care about black people
No nuance at all to these conversations
But y’all intellectuals :pachaha:
Glad that dummy gave a dap for this weak shyt

SAT is more about Test prep than education. Sort of like how a 4.0 gpa student can still fail their MCAT. Doesn't say anything about your education. Just how well you prepared for that particular test.

An realistically it takes money to be prepared properly for those type of exams. You can be the brightest student in your class but if your parents can't afford to enroll you in SAT prep courses online or with a tutor, you will be a disadvantage.
Fam, you do realize that the SAT is an exam that is comprised largely of high school-level topics, right? If you paid attention in grades 9-12, you'd be good even without taking prep courses.

In fact, you'd be able to easily score a 1200 since that's not even that great of a score. That's simply above-average.

This is literally just invented revisionist history. The economic base, job prospects, and schooling situation were all far worse pre-integration, not better, and as a result the Black-White testing gap was much larger back then.

One of the largest drivers of the Black-White gap in educational achievement is CONTINUED segregation, as Kozol and others have demonstrated robustly. Communities with the most segregated schools consistently see Black students with the worst outcomes, because those schools are the ones most starved of resources and subject to the worst pedagogies. "Seperate but Equal" will never, ever happen in this country and pining for it is like some weird twisted version of the Lost Cause.

Man...I'm seeing plenty of excuses. Some people agree with me and say it's the parents. The data says that there's a correlation between the parents' income and education and the test scores...

My thing is, that's still on the parents! They gotta get money, or get smart!
What parents? black households have one parent 70% of the time, a black woman.

Bro. Folks are writing up paragraphs about why Asians are successful and black folks are not.

You don't NEED prep courses to get above a 1200. All you need is involved parents, books from Amazon, and YouTube and you can do it yourself.

Everytime this topic is talked about, folks twist themselves in a pretzel making fukking excuses. Never saying "damn that is terrible, we need to do better" and preaching things to help us do better. Nothing but "but but but" while shyt gets worse.

Folks may say just talking about shyt isnt fixing the issue but a lot of success is tied to mentality and that is shaped by larger social expectations. This shyt should trigger shame and people's general reaction should be shame follow by being cognizant of the issue in how they live their lives and how they talk to their peers about this issue until enough folks are on the same page that this isn't acceptable. Otherwise, the shyt never changes because basic perspectives on this issue are all fukked up with a lot of energy put towards excuses instead of a solution oriented mind set.

This shyt is terrible and we, as a collective, need to do better. Period. If your kid is being home terrible test scores you need to be fixing your house ASAP.

You have a literal library in your hands right now more than likely. The access to educational resources and knowledge has never been greater at any point of history. At this point, people are either ignorant of how to use it effectively or they simply don't care.
too bad most black children only have one, last time i checked black men were not needed in the black household because we are
1.broke
2. dusty
3. corny and square
