Sustainable can literally mean anything. Microsoft is a two trillion dollar company, anything can be ‘sustainable’ doesn’t mean they aren’t losing money on it. It just means they can lose money on it almost indefinitely, which is why they are getting bent over by the ftc right now.

If a person is worth 500 billion they can operate a business that loses a billion a year for several decades and it would be sustainable simply because they have the funds to continue losing that level of money and have no real negative impact on them. That would be true even if the business never turned a profit. Game Pass is sustainable because Microsoft as a company brings in so much in profit that the money it loses is negligible in the short term.

Game Pass could be profitable but that's a long road.

No one would describe a company losing a billion a year as “sustainable” No CEO, investor or anyone else involved with running a business would make that claim. It’s absolutely asinine that y’all in here claiming they would.

First off Gamepass is already not losing money. It’s been said multiple times by microsoft themselves, but somehow some of you are still convinced otherwise.

Microsoft has never said that gamepass was profitable

Second gamepass offers multiple ways for devs to make money.

Not to the developers they own.
