Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick also claims that the gamepass model doesn’t make sense for the type of games they make. Things that make you go hmmm :patrice:

Why would they put such a game on Game Pass upfront in the first place? When it comes to new releases Game Pass is for small indie titles that need exposure, multiplayer focused games with microtransactions, and Microsoft first party games. It's pretty much a walled garden for Microsoft games and games they pay developers to showcase.

After it's sold through all it's going to sell that's when they bring it to Game Pass.

‘Sustainable’ =! Profitable
Sustainable=Not burning money.

I know there's a lot of people that like to write, We're burning cash right now for some future pot of gold at the end. No. Game Pass is very, very sustainable right now as it sits and it continues to grow."

He’s literally telling you directly y’all narrative is false.

Sustainable can literally mean anything. Microsoft is a two trillion dollar company, anything can be ‘sustainable’ doesn’t mean they aren’t losing money on it. It just means they can lose money on it almost indefinitely, which is why they are getting bent over by the ftc right now.

Words mean things, if the service was profitable they would say profitable

Two posts ago y’all said losing money wasn’t sustainable. Now microsoft got unlimited cash to lose.

Make up your mind:comeon:

Again he literally says they are not burning cash for future profits.

Again, show me where he says sustainable.

To them they aren’t burning through cash because they see growing their userbase and gaining marketshare as not ‘burning’ money. But thats really what they are doing, they are continuing to throw cash into the fire to keep the gamepass train going so it might one day favor their distribution model.

They aren’t looking at it that way obviously but i bet you every other game publishers and platform is

If a person is worth 500 billion they can operate a business that loses a billion a year for several decades and it would be sustainable simply because they have the funds to continue losing that level of money and have no real negative impact on them. That would be true even if the business never turned a profit. Game Pass is sustainable because Microsoft as a company brings in so much in profit that the money it loses is negligible in the short term.

Game Pass could be profitable but that's a long road.

You can’t find me one quote from anyone employed by microsoft that mentions the word profit :francis:
The number one sign that our platform is healthy and growing is actually engagement on the platform from players and that is what Game Pass is growing. So our business continues to grow and be profitable at Xbox and we are proud of that

No one would describe a company losing a billion a year as “sustainable” :stopitslime: No CEO, investor or anyone else involved with running a business would make that claim. It’s absolutely asinine that y’all in here claiming they would.

Furthermore he doesn’t simply say it’s sustainable. He says they are currently NOT BURNING THROUGH CASH for hope of future profits.

So he directly contradicts what you are saying here.

You guys literally have no proof of what you are saying, just saying it cause it soothes your sony stan sensibilities.
