If The Lox came out. Dropped they first album. Had all the features and hits and went platinum the same way. And all of a sudden died in the year 2000. They would be considered 90s rappers.

and they would be black rob status.

lets not leave that part out.

stlyes & sheek basically said
ruff ryders = family
bad boy = fun
ruff ryders = fab 5 with da blacks socks
bad boy = the jordan BULLS

:yeshrug: i dont know what else to tell u :manny:

unless u gonna somehow... someway... spin
fab5 having more impact in sports history over da 72wins bulls

time stamp 35:00 - 51:00 they go in & out of there bad boy era

I just don't understand why this shyt is so hard to comprehend fam. It's one of the most simple arguments up here. Literally 1+1=2 type shyt. Lol

I mean if u even look at their features alone. Honey remix wit Mariah Carey. Banned From TV. John Blaze. 24 Hours To Live. All About the Benjamins. Get At Me Dog. Ruff Ryders Anthem remix. Etc etc. And nikkas tryna compare them to Black Rob? :what:

I guess you could say they are both 90s and 00s rappers, but its tricky. Someone like Drake/Wale/Sean/etc, you could say oh they're popular in the 10s, so they are 10s rappers. But they came up in the 00s. They represent that late 2000s era come up. Calling them 10s rappers puts them in the same category as the Yachty's and Fetty Waps, which those guys aren't. So even though they pop off in the 10s, they cut from the 2000s cloth. Just like how all of our favorite 00s NY rappers come from that 90s NY cloth

by this logic, majority of the '90s guys are '80s rappers.

and I mean, at least cam & the lox had some hits at the tail end of the '90s. what did wale & big sean do in the '00s?

Black Rob didn't drop a platinum album or have the exposure that The Lox did in the 90s. Cut it out.

I think his album went platinum. and "whoa" was certainly bigger than any lox song. and he won a source award for it too.

only thing they had on rob is that they got more features. and lets be real, in the eyes of the majority, the people who love those songs but aren't really into hip-hop like that and really don't know the lox, they could care less if the DJ skips their verses on benjamins, honey, etc.

hell, even their signature bad boy hit, "money, power respect", the main attractions were the DMX feature, the lil kim hook & the beat.

in terms of straight spitting, it gets better and better tbh. People want to make the past prettier than it is; in the 90's the straight spitting was popular, now it's not so much in the mainstream. But the level of spitting, the technical side etc, guys like Kendrick, Royce, Crooked, Gates, Rittz & tbh 1000 less known rappers exceeds anything they did in the 90's

:what: His album came out in 2000 nikka. The scenario was if The Lox died that year.

they could've easily not been included in any of these songs and those records would've got the same results.

sheek did do half the hook for "get at me dog"...........but it was uncredited so he really didn't shine off of it,

and this is a spinoff of the title of their signature album "we are the streets" - which dropped in 2000.

of course theyre gonna want to attach themselves to the '90s.

theres no money in 2000s nostalgia. if this tape was titled "we are the '00s" nobody would look twice at it.

He was still on the song and everyone knew who it was. Also. nikkas Done Started Somethin.
:what: nikka. U tellin me that dope ass back n forth on Banned From TV or their verses on 24 Hours To Live and All About The Benjamins don't mean nothin? U fukkin buggin in here nikka. Lol. U really tryna argue a platinum group ain't mean shyt in their era. Lol. There's plenty of songs that would still pop without certain features. That dont mean shyt nikka. This is the mental gymnastics I'm talking bout. U refuse to give up on this shyt fam. U wrong.
