I’d have to see the details because you never know with these GOP plans but I don’t think this is that big an issue. We already do a similar thing here in Louisiana. If you plan to go to college you get a traditional diploma where you have to take Physics, Precalculus, etc and if you plan to go to the military , trade school, start working etc, you opt of that path and you don’t have to take those classes and that’s the only difference
im not quite sure if you understand that the gov and ryan walters plans are to kill public education entirely in lieu of charter/private schools that most people cant afford. hes gutting public education and you're for it?
Very anti-American. The college degree (Bachelor's) is being devalued as we speak. Either go into debt at trade school, go into debt at college, or join the military
Prepping students for career paths is a great idea. Making it a requirement to graduate is a problem. It restricts their ability to make a choice. Where is the choice for starting a business? Also, are universities going to change their recruiting requirements and take less out-of-state-students and give priority to in-state students. We are talking about money here. Will OK increase financial aid because trade schools can see this as an opportunity to raise tuition since it'll fall within a requirement. We have seen this before when the Federal government got into the student loan business. Lastly with DEI being none existent, who do you think will be impacted the most?
it's also complete bullshytI didn’t know this is the case. Do you have a link of some sort that explains in detail how he plans on implementing this….. Killing public education is damn near impossible
these dirty motherfukkers had to be SHAMED into passing this! they wanted to BEAT disabled kids in school. it was legal until this year. What about disabled people who can't do none of things mentioned after High School?
it's also complete bullshyt
public education isn't about education. it's daycarewhat kids are learning is an afterthought
republicans have kids too![]()
I'm reading the comments and I'm with youThis is a bad thing?
Not to mention that this is the same state where they're making kids read the Bible even if it isn't part of their religion.A lot of dumbasses will see this as a positive. It's like their simple brains can't look past the surface level of the "good" and care for future generations it provides while not realizing this has sooooo many bad implications all over.
Have a snickers and read between the linesI really can’t see how this is a bad thing![]()
man its nuanced as hell but i see it daily. people in OK are already dumb as dirt, destroying the school system will turn this state into even more of a third world country. if you saw this and had no idea about the fukkery stitt and walters get up to, yeah i could see it as a good thing.confusing ass thread
For the students who can't afford it right away, they will be more likely to drop out of school and be impoverished.I really can’t see how this is a bad thing
