While i dont think this should be enforceable without making education cheap, its odd how people are on here pretending theres a vasty array of options beyond those 3 paths for a 18 year old especially with the dawn of the AI. A lot of whats been ailing youth for the past several generations is that the nation has no defined pathways for young men and women and allowing them to wander aimlessly in their 20s.

I’d have to see the details because you never know with these GOP plans but I don’t think this is that big an issue. We already do a similar thing here in Louisiana. If you plan to go to college you get a traditional diploma where you have to take Physics, Precalculus, etc and if you plan to go to the military , trade school, start working etc, you opt of that path and you don’t have to take those classes and that’s the only difference

Worst thing that happens to derail a lot of peoples lives is rushing into the rest of your life immediately upon graduating Highschool.

Not everybody is ready to cmmit at age 17 or 18 to a livelong career path.

Worst of all there is no cutoff date for college or trade school. So you don't even have to rush. you get a degree at 24 just as easily as you would have at 18.

this law is a terrible solution for what ever problem they are trying to address.
