Where in the OP does it say college is a requirement to graduate highschool? I must've missed it.

If they DON'T go to college they're stuck with a highschool degree.....

you're either trolling or you can't read. from the first time you mispresented my post i should have realized what time you were on. oh well. the governor clearly stated that you can't graduate without proof of post high school plans and those plans have to be one of those 3. my only argument is make the non-military options free as well. k-12 education is compulsory because it is provided free of charge to everyone. if it wasn't free they couldn't make it compulsory.

He has some ideas to make this happen, like requiring students to graduate from Oklahoma high schools.

Stitt also wants students to have to be accepted into a college.

If not college, he says kids should be accepted into a CareerTech.

Otherwise, Stitt says a student would have to be going into the army.

"You have to have some kind of plan post-graduation to go get a great job."

What a stupid requirement glad my friend moved my godson out of that BS area. They have poor education levels as it already is.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting the Op. It does not state 'college enrollment' as a requirement for highschool graduation.

I stand correct and the changes are not as indicated in the TikTok vid. I'll take an L on that. :beli: However, this bill gives "school districts" the flexibility to develop their own curriculums. I guess they are getting an early start if changes are made in the Federal Department of Education when Trump takes office.

In so many words, college 'can' be expensive, I get that. But how would it make you a permanent underclass? College graduates make $1 million more in their lifetime vs. highschool graduates. If paying for college is a problem Community College is dirt cheap and there's tons of scholarships and grants you can apply for.

Also trade school isn't expensive, about $15k and you're getting paid while on the job or you can join a Union and get it for free.
community college should be free as a public service. anybody who wants to get educated should have the ability to do so.

i hate this virulent anti-intellectualism. thats what these fukkers are going for when they ramble on about trannies and porn and kitty litter boxes in the bathroom. they know its nonsense. they just want to make public schools look as bad as possible. and it works. dumb right wingers get on social media and bloviate about the "lib terd" teacher and go off on weird rants about how they wanna transition kids in class and molest the kids.

they are using peoples prejudices to destroy public education and its working. most americans read below a sixth grade level.

Don’t see what’s wrong with that.

College, a trade or the military are really the only 3 options after high school unless the student plans on working a dead end job until they get tired of that and decide to go to school, learn a trade or go into the military.
