did you read what i wrote? instead of me explaining myself to you, how about you tell me what i said means to you.

In so many words, college 'can' be expensive, I get that. But how would it make you a permanent underclass? College graduates make $1 million more in their lifetime vs. highschool graduates. If paying for college is a problem Community College is dirt cheap and there's tons of scholarships and grants you can apply for.

Also trade school isn't expensive, about $15k and you're getting paid while on the job or you can join a Union and get it for free.

This is a bad thing?
Prepping students for career paths is a great idea. Making it a requirement to graduate is a problem. It restricts their ability to make a choice. Where is the choice for starting a business? Also, are universities going to change their recruiting requirements and take less out-of-state-students and give priority to in-state students. We are talking about money here. Will OK increase financial aid because trade schools can see this as an opportunity to raise tuition since it'll fall within a requirement. We have seen this before when the Federal government got into the student loan business. Lastly with DEI being none existent, who do you think will be impacted the most?

oh ok, you clearly don't get it. going to college, a trade school or the military won't make you a permanent underclass, in fact it's the best way we know to get into the middle class and potentially above. but if you can't afford that option and the state isn't making this required option free to you then you won't even have a high school diploma and that's how you become a part of a permanent underclass.

and trade schools are CURRENTLY inexpensive with various workarounds because they are desperate for young people to enroll. but if oklahoma will be sending them thousands of new blood per year then those workarounds will disappear.

How does it restrict their choice? College, Trade School, Military. Unless you want to take a year off, what other choices are you thinking of?

How many 17 yr olds start a business after highschool? Starting a business requires funds and knowledge of a certain field, something college graduates obtain.

In hold. That talking point is old and doesn't hold the same weight as in the past. :camby:You have BS degree holders now getting paid just as much as high school graduates. Also, that talking point doesn't factor the nearly 20 years students pay on student loans that impact their financial wealth meanwhile their dollar is holding less value. Stop drinking the kool-aid. :beli:

A lot of dumbasses will see this as a positive. It's like their simple brains can't look past the surface level of the "good" and care for future generations it provides while not realizing this has sooooo many bad implications all over.

Where in the OP does it say college is a requirement to graduate highschool? I must've missed it.

If they DON'T go to college they're stuck with a highschool degree.....

Have only gazed at this, but if its saying what I think, this is excellent and should be nationwide.

If this is saying every graduate will either go to college, trade school, or the military this should be a federal mandate and is long over due.
