100,000 Nike shares would be over 180 million today and that’s not even including dividends and the more he would have got issued throughout his career. His cut of the shoe sales would have him in the billions :wow:

That is crazy. Magic would have probably sold those shares though.

Just FYI, for anyone wondering about Michael Jordan's deal in 1986 got him 500,000 per year for 5 years and his own shoe.
Photos show the rise and fall of Nike's iconic Air Jordan sneakers — and how the shoes are making a comeback 16 years after Michael Jordan's retirement

Another great episode.

ETA: 100K was a lot of money 1980s, y'all trippin. Plus he had other endorsement toos.

Yeah your right. I was thinking the same thing too he would have most likely sold all or majority well before they touched B’s

Nike was a nobody, yes Majic could've took the shares of Nike but again, Nike was nobody/nothing at the time. This is pre-Jordan. Majic took the sure thing/endorsement and the money, his decision wasn't awful, we can only say it was a bad decision damn near 40 years later with Nikes valuation and post Jordan/multi signature athlete success.

Also, you act like Phil Knight was some big bause or notable player in the sneaker industry circia 1980.

It was just a question nikka

Yeah, he speaks in his own "code".
His codes are easy to catch on to and he uses them to not be vulgar or disrespectful, so I actually appreciate that. But dude always talking in a condescending and high and mighty way when addressing the community as a whole. It's always some "See the Latino community appreciates older RnB artists but you SLABOOOS/JIGGABOOS/NEGROES don't know how to do that!!!!!!" I hate muhfukkas like that. fukk that dude for real.

Who's that ?

Hes a coli breh that use to post alot of insider Industry information. His threads were informative but when he started calling black folks jiggaboos and porch monkeys he got bushed .

Interesting enough he would talk about blacks with the same condescending tone as Gordon. Hmmm

Gotta be the same person. The corny names for each account is a dead giveaway.

Nike were nobodies when they approached Jordan too. Difference is Jordan took the deal though because he eventually saw the vision.

Bro, you make it to the league right now, Nike offers you 50 million a year and Anta offers you stock, you’re taking Anta?

Good question.

Idk, with the right design and marketing a player who comes in out of college like Zion could elevate a company by themselves.
