that looks cool but I don’t think handheld gaming is for me any longer despite my interest…I think I’m just looking to make an impulse buy but realistically I’m not gonna use it much at all…I haven’t gamed extensively on a handheld device since the PSP days…the biggest factor in changing my mind was watching some gameplay of helldivers on it and seeing how small the text and everything else was…then the second factor was remembering how little I used my switch lite before I sold it

That's fair. Me on the other hand, if I could....I would have every single form of tech as a handheld. The shyt is crazy convenient. Hell, when I had to go to the hospital to check on my wife (car accident/shyt drivers down here). I loaded up my Switch and my Deck like I was fukking Kokey Koala:

Just the idea of if my laptop were to shyt the bed, I can easily plug a keyboard and mouse to the Deck and call it a day. It just works....but I dig it on how you feeling. Handhelds are not for everybody. Yet, for somebody that had the PSP/Vita longer than any handheld I ever owned..it just scratches the itch.

ya there was a time when I used to have “every” new piece of tech/gadget but during the quarantine I sold, gave away and threw out so much electronic shyt…shyt I used maybe a few times, only once, or never at all and were still in the boxing/package…I be wasting a lot of money on electronics…particularly tablets and gaming devices

@Blessed Koala so what accessories do I need?

I have a power bank already and it comes with a carrying case I thibk

If you are trying to turn it into a PC experience:

You could get the Steam Dock, but its overkill for the price, when you can get a simple dongle and trick it out.

A power bank is a must if you are running heavy duty games on it (The battery life is ass and a half)

I tried to post the Amazon link but it's a pain in the neck to post on here.

The case that comes with it is sturdy as hell, so you don't have to worry about copping one.

Micro SD is a must if you trying to load that jawn with games. If you really feeling froggy and want to update the actual hard drive:

Tutorials are straight forward:

As far as protective cases and etc, I wouldn't bother since the jawn is kinda durable, but if you want to give the deck a personality:

Last but not least, make sure you install Docky loader so you can run custom GUIs, boot up screens, and etc.

did you end up doing this?

…and if so can you download the games that are available for download from PSnow or game pass onto the device?

I don’t game on PC so I don’t have a steam deck library…not too interested in emulators either so PSnow and game pass is pretty much all I’ll use it for

Damn my fault miss this alert. No I haven't done that shyt it seem too much time consuming. I will do it during Thanksgiving time off when I do have the time. I will buy an extra SD card and dual boot it from the reading. I heard game performance isn't that good yet.

If you want to to run the steam deck like a pc. Since it has Linux on there, you can actually use it like a regular computer with keyboard and mouse. Hook up the monitor to it and etc. Maybe you want to play on a TV, you can plug the hdmi through it and do what you gotta do.
