aka u haven’t used it. I’m not having this argument. U haven’t used or put time into this device. U don’t know the quirks, growing pains, pluses or minuses with this device. There is literally 1000s of games to play on this device only months in. The power is good enough to run plenty of newer games at 60fps. And I’m speaking high settings. Games don’t even have to run on high settings on a device so small. Right now. I can play every new game that drops on the go. At ATLEAST 30fps. Elden Ring ran better on Steam Deck than home PC’s because of Proton. Again. U sold urs. U don’t have experience with it. I’ve had it since launch. I was the FIRST person on this site to own one. There’s really no argument to be had with me.
Meh same thing was said about the Xbox Series S. Games can be ran at lower specs because it's not a 4K device so it doesn't need all the power. Now about 2 years in developers are crying about it, calling it a bottle neck, and saying it's going to hamper this generation of consoles. They're also cutting back features on it in comparison to the games on the Series X.
Portable gaming is and will always be better in a closed box standardized environment where everyone has the same guaranteed experience. When variables are introduced problems will be introduced. You can have all the experience in the world with any given device and that's still a universal truth.
Beyond that I don't trust Valve. You tell me how the Steam Machines panned out. Remember the Steam Link? Steam controller? Did they ever really update any of that stuff or did it just come out and fade away?
