Harrison was shaky on the code and dark passenger stuff anyway. Dexter then broke the code by killing a good man just to free himself. Harrison didnt want to live a life of constant killing and on the run just to be with his dad. It wasnt the way he wanted to cope with his childhood and there was really no convincing Dexter otherwise. Look at all the people that died close to him when he could have turned killers in and saved lives. Only way was to get rid of pops. It sucks because we all like Dexter and dont really like Harrison, but thats the only way it had to end. Unless you wanted "suicide by cop" or to see Dex rotting in prison on death row.

Then there would be a clamoring for a new season with him in prison killing killers and to see him escape like Andy Dufresne to reunite with Harrison :mjlol:

I was half expecting Dexter to kill Harrison in that scene and for Bishop to role up on him mid/after kill.

If Dexter then killed her too and the show ended with him on the run, only for a post-credit scene where Dexter thinks he's safe, only for a Batista led squad to catch him as a segue for season 2. :banderas:

Run it back as a limited the US vs. Dexter Morgan series, him standing trial or something. Have a season kind of like the Unabomber show on Netflix :banderas:

This is cool, but end of what though? This only works if they were bringing the show back and the Dexter character back. They were clearly looking to end the Dexter character, so it would need to be more finite or it's open ended again.

After credits scene. Batista shows up a day later. to his surprise Dexter is being called a hero for cracking the old serial killer case. Realizing Angela got killed while dexter was locked up with Logan also shows to Batista he was wrong about dex the whole time. He apologizes and offers to help Dex get his old life and job back since he just cracked a big case. Show ends with him and his son heading back to Miami where it all started.

So in your scenario, Harrison kills Angela?

When dexter and Harrison talk in the cell he tells him to take kurts rifle and go to kurts ranch and wait.. he will know what to do and it's the only way to make things right. Then dex sends Angela there to find kurts bodies and she gets ambushed by Harrison. Harrison finally man's up and kills Angela and makes it look like she died confronting Kurt.

Dex tells Logan he found out Kurt was the killer and Angela didnt believe him and that's why she went to investigate solo. Logan goes after her. Finds her dead at kurts cabin along with the bodies of the girls and looks like Kurt left town. Logan never believed dex was guilty anyway so he let's him free and now dex looks like a hero for solving the Kurt case. And Harrison caught his first body. The end.

You know the ironic thing is, all the elements to make a great ending to the series were contained in this episode...the problem is they crammed everything into 1 episode and it came off forced and rushed. Imagine if they fleshed out these elements over 5 or 6 episodes:

- Angela continues to build her case against Dexter, including calling up Batista to talk about the BHB case. Batista flies up and they go investigating together.

- They decide to arrest him for Matt's murder, but also got a search warrant to search his truck where they found his butcher tools among other things.

- They bring him in for questioning and Dexter and Batista have an intense, emotional face to face.

- Dexter stews in jail for a while and things are looking bleak. He tells Harrison to flee town and go a specific location where he will meet him soon.

- Dexter breaks out of jail killing Logan in the process. Now there's a national manhunt that attracts media attention.

- Dexter meets up with Harrison and he decides they need to flee the country. They're on the road for a while trying to escape the intense manhunt. Harrison is conflicted, but slowly starts turning on him.

- Dexter is getting desperate and out of control and kills someone who identifies him from the media coverage and about to turn him in. Harrison then decides enough is enough.

- They have their emotional final scene where Harrison kills him. Harrison is seen as a sympathetic figure under the control of his monster father and is released. He rides off with Dexter's letter voice over. The end.

That's 10/10 what needed to happen!

I think part of the challenge with this season is that the writers were kinda hamstrung in that they wanted to get some kind of closure on BHB, but there really wasn't a great way to do it. Everybody smart/competent that was around at that time is dead and so they were forced to shoehorn Bautista (never solved a case in 8 years) into the story. There's no real evidence that ties Dexter to BHB after 10 years so unless he confessed there wasn't really any tension there. That's why Angela's google search investigation was so embarrasing and also why him killing Logan to break out of jail was so far fetched.

Poor Logan that brother just wanted to be a bad cop, knock down Asian podcasters and coach wrestling.:mjcry:

Could be that billionaire. Have him paying bounty hunters to hunt them nationwide, then Dex ends up hunting him. Had Harrison thinking they were running away spending time together but the whole time Dex was walking down the billionaire and it had very little to do with him and Harrison bonding. Harrison realizes that he'd always be second to the dark passenger.

:ehh: Not a bad idea generally, but in my scenario, Dexter's only goal is desperately trying to escape and survive which causes him to reveal his true psycho nature. This scares and repulses Harrison which leads him to turning on Dexter and putting him down.

Dumb ending :laff:
I glad I didn't have to wait on a weekly basis to watch this shyt.
I used the free trial to watch this shyt, and I binged it in a couple of days.
I have to go back to the Dark Knight Rises to think of a dumber ending

I liked the ending Dexter had to be at peace w it ending and Harrison probably the only one he would let take him out.

Harrison gonna be doing what he always been doing though, starting over
