No, I think Okafor is a 20/10 guy for the next 12 years or so, it's just that if they do go with Simmons one of the bigs has to go and they need shooting.

No way the Sixers move Okafor and not get the 3rd at minimum and maybe the 16th from yall, you don't have that much leverage because they have all these guys under contract on rookie deals.

yeah, i think okafor is a problem

dudes on here act like he's a bum

Okafor's not a bum; he's just problematic. Despite his 20-10 potential, the team plays better with him off the floor because of how bad he is defensively. He could get better on that side of the floor, but he'll never be more than mediocre because of his lack of quickness.

Also, Simmons is far too good a passer and lethal in transition to be reduced to a rich man's Lamar Odom comparison.

@CantStop @2Quik4UHoes and my other LWO brehs we gonna be stanning another superstar

Chad Ford:

Ingram has been working out in White Plains, New York, focusing on two key things the 76ers and Lakers will be watching closely in their workouts with him -- improving his strength and proving his ability to be an elite shooter from the NBA 3-point line.

A lack of strength is the biggest knock against Ingram right now. His lanky 6-foot-8 frame weighs less than 200 pounds -- extremely thin for an NBA forward.

Ingram says he has put on around seven pounds since he started strength training, upping his weight to 197 pounds. Obviously, teams are going to want to see him significantly heavier than that. But he has time. He is one of the youngest players in the draft and has never done much in the weight room. While his frame is thin, the word from the training staff here was that Ingram is already surprisingly strong.

The other question concerns Ingram's 3-point shot. He made an impressive 41 percent from deep as a freshman But as Kevin Pelton has mentioned in our draft debates, his 68 percent free throw shooting is a red flag. Typically, free throw shooting has been a better indicator of a player's NBA 3-point shooting ability.

While Ingram didn't address his free throw shooting in the workout I saw, he really shot the ball well in a series of drills utilizing the NBA 3. Not only did he look comfortable taking spot-up shots, but when the staff took him through a star drill -- where Ingram had to make as many shots as possible from five spots on the floor in a star pattern in two minutes -- he excelled.

He has an effortless stroke. He didn't seem to be straining at all on the 3s. That's unusual for most prospects, even great shooters, so early in the process. Typically it takes players some time to adjust. Ingram is well on his way.

Off the court, Ingram is quiet and determined. A number of GMs remarked that he impressed in his interviews at the draft combine and that all the background reports say he's a thoughtful, coachable player who's a good teammate off the court. And despite his thin frame, Ingram doesn't seem to be that concerned with the increased physicality he'll encounter in the NBA.

"I'm confident," he said. "I think confidence got me this far. I always thought I was the best player wherever I was, even with my build I always had confidence. Confidence to do whatever I wanted regardless of what others said. Determination to make a basket or get a defensive stop. I've always been responsible, have put my teammates first and taken responsibility for my own actions."

Ingram probably will go either No. 1 or No. 2 in the draft. Interestingly, one NBA exec said his real future in the NBA isn't as a forward. It's as a shooting guard.

"Back when the Pacers used to play Paul George at the 2, I felt like that was his best position," he said. "I feel the same way about Ingram. That's where he can be devastating and his lack of strength won't come back to haunt him. If he becomes a superstar, I think it will be because he developed the ability to play that spot."

I rather have him at the 2 than having Clarkson there. Unless Clarkson magically improves his defense, we ain't going nowhere with him as a starter

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
If the Sixers do take Simmons what is your take on it?

I like Simmons, but they'd need to make some roster changes to get the best out of him, they'd have to play him at PF and place shooting at the 1, 2 and 3 for him to really excel (and their 7 centers as well). He will not work well with Ish Smith, that's a :scust: worthy level of floor balance right there, a PG that can't shoot much with him is gonna have the lane overcrowded, especially since Embiid/Okafor/Noel are all guys that live in the paint. I'd be shopping Okafor for whatever pick gets me Murray or Hield, someone that has the profile of lights out shooter that you could play as the lead guard. If I could get Bradley and the 3rd pick for Okafor, that is what I'd do.

He has star power which is what they want, but they have to restructure their roster to fit his talent a bit more than they would with Ingram who just fits in better with what they have.

Yeah sounds like some of yall teetering on the edge of almost calling Odom wacky or something. Dude was LEGIT

At the same age Odom was a better shooter, more fluid athlete and had a better handle, Simmons is more explosive and looks stronger than Odom.

And yeah, Odom was cold.

I'm not that big on Simmons game, I think he has high potential but also a lot of bust potential

After doing some more research, I'm leaning 70-30 in favor of the Sixers taking Simmons. They'll definitely have to trade Okafor to do it, but that was looking likely as long as Embiid returned to the floor. With Simmons' athleticism and playmaking ability, it would take Beasley-level work ethic for him to bust. He's certainly not a Lebron-generational-level prospect, but he's probably on the next level down.

Best thing about it, if the Sixers take Ingram I'd be satisfied with it. Ingram's a beast too. But fam, if we had been saddled with the 3rd or 4th pick this year I woulda been FUKKING SICK. If we did all that losing to end up with Kris Dunn it might've killed my Sixers fandom. I hate that dude's game man, I really do.

Now it's Bradley too?

Come on man

I do agree with you on hield or Murray over Dunn next to Simmons

Still.think Ingrams best fit is at the 3, for now Clarkson can be a place holder at the 2.

What y'all think about sliding Russel down to the 2 when Sabo comes thru next year? :lupe:

Even if that's a joke there seems to be this group that thinks Russell's best position is 2 but he's definitely a 1 and he would be damn near useless at 2 unless he's taking the ball up as a 2
