That article was made before the lottery. If Lakers ended up with #3, Dunn would have been considered.

They have a ton of cap space, they will add a few guys and they'll buy into the late first round.
If Brook Lopez gets injured though...
They will take Simmons anyway, probably get talked into giving away a big for peanuts, and continue to be mediocre. All signs are pointing to them taking Simmons.
