Oculus Rift Official Thread (preorders start 1/6/16 $599 Expected to Ship in March)

I can finally set it up today. I was busy last night, but the Rift software has finally been downloaded. Just gotta set it up this afternoon.
First impressions:
-The headset feels cheap compared to the Vive, but is lighter and more comfortable
-Sitting down with a controller in my hand is much better than standing with the Vive remotes
-While the resolution is the same as the Vive, it looks better on the Rift. I'm not sure why.
-I'm downloading like 20 games and apps right now. I will update with gameplay impressions later tonight. I'm gonna be playing a lot of games all day
So far, with just a little playtime, I'm more impressed with the Rift than the Vive.

Man, fukk the Vive. The real VR experience is with the Rift. These "real" games, without the fukking wiimote controls, are the truth. Using an X1 controller is so much better than using fake wiimotes (like with the Vive). All the Vive games are centered around the controllers, and that's hurting them. They're gimmicky and not fun. The Rift here...now that's the shyt. It's what I expected with VR. I am very happy with this purchase.

The Vive is of higher build quality, has two motion sensors, and is a full room experience (and that's why it costs more). I think the controllers are limiting the devs though. They're building all the game based on those motion controllers. You need a proper controller to play "real games." I'm actually glad Oculus delayed the Force Touch controllers. I'm getting real games with this shyt. I prefer sitting down and playing anyway. I don't wanna be walking around, ducking, and moving my arms around for hours. The Rift is the perfect combination of "old school" controller based games and VR. Plus, the FB money. They're getting all the exclusives. Buy the Rift brehs. Your mind will be blown
