Started a black studies club in my school and went to mostly black schools all my life.

Rep and salute you you!!!!!!! That’s good to hear! How did you start that club? What are some of the topics that you studied? It helps to pass that info along...

And It’s usually Aframs telling other blacks to go back home up here.

Aframs DO NOT say this unless they got into some type of beef/disagreement/altercation with a foreigner.

Africans who come to the US usually live in locations with economic opportunities. So moving to a place like Alabama or Mississippi is not something an African would consider.

Immigrants in general do not move to such places.

You mean the black ones.

So, you do know those jokes also came from other black foreigners/1st,2nd generation? If you are from Crown Heights, there is no way you don't know this!

And it wasn't anit-aa with boldness, it was little shyt they would say, that's why I say passive aggressive. It usually came from herb nikkas, or older people, but people who wanted to participate with the NYC culture wasn't on that. That's why i say it was good & bad growing up in Flatbush. The good was experiencing different cultures, and seeing how much we had in common, even though we were different. The bad was some thinking they were better just because they had the image of going to school, getting a good job, go to church, etc. then they try to say its "in our culture", implying its not in mine. A person with common sense wouldn't even make that statement, because damn near all people in this country think like that.
The majority of people i see calling foreign blacks these names are AA's.

So, lets get this straight. In NYC where people look, and act, like black americans, but claim islands, AA are the only people you see calling names?

First, how do you know they are black american in background? Damn near all of us act the same!

Secondly, I think you are being biased for some reason, because there is no way you grew up in Crown heights, and only saw black americans calling foreigners names. I distinctly remember the years of being young when Haitians used to say they were Jamaican, because of the dissing, and a lot of the people dissing PROUDLY claimed Jamaica or some latin country. Then the years when the dissing calmed down on the Haitians in the mid 90's, but African jokes were made, and again by these same people with island backgrounds.

So, I'm trying to find out why when people in NYC are now trying to unify the caribbeans in Brooklyn, and all of a sudden, it was only black americans dissing Haitians, and saying African Booty Scratcher?

This is another reason why I'm hesitant to trust a lot of west indians, because they are changing the narrative now that they are on some "caribbean culture" stuff in this era. Back then it was all about YOUR country, which is nothing wrong with, but now with this "caribbean unity" I'm seeing this narrative be told with an agenda behind it! I really want to have love for my west indian people who I grew up with, and have love for, but it feels like a snake biting me when I hear these half truths be told, now. That is why I feel i have to tell the truth when it comes to this, I WAS THERE, AND REMEMBER EVERYTHING!

I was in Accra with my Ghanaian-American homie, locals treated him like a weirdo out of touch with his own culture, it was different story when I pulled up though :shaq:

Same thing when me and that same homie when to Dakar, we were both foreigners, both American passports but we weren’t treated the same

It’s cool though. This internet shyt is just internet shyt. We all know what it is in real life and that’s all that matters because this keyboard shyt is for the birds

I expected something like that to happen to your boy. I'm not suprised at all :russ:

It's the mentality back home that I've always hated, Ghanaians think foreigners are like Gods with no flaws, but they are QUICK to criticize and shyt on each other like dirt for the smallest things:snoop:

I got a professor to oversee it. We had black folks from all over. West Africa, Haiti, here. I put together a ciriculum of sorts. It was tough sometimes cause we did lectures a lot and well people didn't really want to learn. But it was facilitated through a leadership initative started in my college.

Ok, why was they dissing?

For me, no one cared, my aunt was the only one who would call west indians out on their bullshyt. She was a loud & proud black american straight from N.C., who made it in NYC, and NONE of them wanted smoke from her because she could get even more bougie then they would. MY aunt used to have me like  when someone did passive aggressive shyt around her, and she would bark on them. They couldn't say shyt, because you couldn't tell my aunt she aint living it up

Don't get it twisted, I got love for my west indians, just gotta tell what I saw, and call out the bullshyt. I don't even see the difference like that. Food, accent and music, is not enough for me to feel different from someone, especially when we do damn near the same things most of the time:what:

But according to some people here Africans don't live in the same neighborhoods with Black Americans.

As soon as an African immigrant steps off the plane he is somehow able to afford a house in a rich White neighborhood.
