National Credit Card debt is a trillion dollars and people under 40 years of age are raiding their retirement accounts and people over 55 are now projected to work until they’re dead just to service the debt they’ve amassed.
The machine doesn’t care because life is not valuable. It doesn’t care if you sleep in your car every night or if 25 people have to live in a shoebox. Pay this bill and service this debt so this company turns a bigger profit.
As far as salary I make mid six figures and am coming up on 40 and have two degrees and am married to a doctor who is slightly younger than me but our professional colleagues who are crying broke, are broke because of superfluous spending usually fueled by the wife’s need to keep up with the joneses and compete.
Dumb shyt like buying a new $3mill house because the $1.8mill townhome in River North wasn’t enough. Now the husband who wanted to retire from practice, has to keep working to pay the mortgage because she wants to spend her money on trips to Belize and France.
Just stupid stuff.
