we been doing busniess outside our respective spectrums for so long we’ve been losing our individual identity and it’s harder to sell as a result
Once you sell yourself buyer is expecting that product to be as such.
You sign up to be a Marine, in your head you got the vision of Island hopping, then what happened? you ended up on a FOB, you got navy doing land missions
even down to our uniforms, the public is extremely visual, optics are important, more so for the U.S. than many other countries.
:manny:

that ugly ass acu affected the visuals, and look what happened went back to the bdu look with multicam lol
The greens was our look, army green our color and then they went blue,
had nikkas looking we worked for amtrack.
:russ:

They trying to fix it with the Ike uniform though

Also too, its hard for the army to sell its self as a whole because there is so many damn unit identities, thats why they had that army of one shii back in the g. Marines always were better at selling themselves cause they can sell themselves as one, and they're smaller so it works. Its a reason they never changed they shii outside of battle uniform.

People aren't trying to die for this country and we live in a climate of constant conflict. We got a future event internally with this election cycle. Russia-Ukraine, middle east stuff that the US always seems to be involved in.

People keep pushing the military on individuals who don't have great career prospects (and it came be a come-up for them) but some people are opposed to killing. I feel like that perspective gets lost on some. A lot of people are opposed to the idea of brandishing a gun and killing someone.
I mean tbf it's always been like that, combat arms are the smallest out of the branches. Most people end up support roles anyway. We were still probably about a million strong up into the 90s, and shii was going on left and right

Unless they’re all going to be deck swabbys most navy jobs take some form of intelligence

This isn’t good
I was about to say! This shyt is ridiculous.

Stop lowering requirements and make the military more appealing! They need to be more competitive. It’s that simple.

Make some betters ads or something.

I don’t want someone who didn’t even bother to get a GED in the military. Gtfoh

I wonder what's stopping them from matching your current pay? All they'd have to do is look at your W2 and pay stubs.

Most folks ain't tryna take a pay cut on top of debt they already owe. Figure you wanna join in your mid 20s to mid 30s, you definitely got debt, that E1 salary ain't gone cut it. :mjlol:

:heh:

Because there is a literal pay chart based off your rank/years in. This aint the civilian world world breh. Even on the GS side, they have pay grades/steps which would be the civilian equivalent.

Mind you, unless you owe a substantial amount of debt.... just having the burden of not paying for housing, utilities and food makes paying debt down way easier.... but it's definitely a case by case basis.

If your debt is student loan based, it's a good chance you're not coming in as a e-1...or at least will leave boot camp as a e2/e3.

Timing also matters too,This is what the Navy giving out right now. But not everyone is going to qualify for these....and some are rates that aren't for the faint of heart.

Active Duty Enlistment Bonus Source Rates**

Loan Repayment up to $65K for qualifying loans available for all active component Future Sailors.

Sitting on your ass watching other people play video games and having sista girl talk hour is more enticing than doing something with your life unfortunately

Smfh
These dudes could get a 4-year degree, get a high paying telecommute job AND THEN play video games half the day when things are slow.

All them hours of studying Calculus II, Linear Algebra, Intermediate Macro/Microeconomics, Corporate Finance, Intermediate Accounting etc., paid off ngl.

damn money seem pretty good TBH.

But running a ship not any bozo can do.
Its also dangerous in itself; and then u add the whole military thing in the mix......it aint a cruise ship :sadcam:

They probably need to up those #s to get real talent TBH.

You could make the same money for the same skills and not have to fight in a war most likely.

Money talks.

Wars aren't fought in foxholes anymore its all advanced warfare. The days of offering a criminal a choice between jail or military are long gone :francis:
Alright, I'll give you the rundown since I'm actually in the navy:

The pay on that website is cap...kind of. They factor in the insurance benefits as well into the salary, hence the "salary + benefits". Use the below for the salary figures:

When I was an E-1, I was earning a smooth $550 every fukking 2 weeks, which is downright ass, but I wasn't paying for food, rent or utilities at the time, so that money went into savings since I lived in the barracks. As a single E-1 - E-4, you pretty much HAVE to live that way or else you're gonna stay broke and struggling. As an Enlisted sailor, you really don't start making money until you hit E-5 or E-4 with over four years of service.

And I wouldn't even concern myself with going to war. There are a myriad of reasons why a war won't break out that heavily involves the navy, but the most important reason is that no one can fukk with us without suffering an alarming number of casualties.

Edit: I was an E-1 in 2017. They get paid around $700 today, I belive.

Every country needs muscle.

If the paper is right why not?

But what this thread is saying they're under-paid.

A lot of people would probably benefit from it.

Prolly make men out of a lot of boys 2.
This country has plenty of violent nuts running around already ; why not give em an outlet :russ:

You're being purposely dense at this point.

The Navy operates the Master Clock that gives timing to the entire GPS constellation..... so if you've done something as simple as used google maps to get somewhere, or had the right time on your watch, phone or computer... you needed the Navy for it.

as a sailor, would you rather have a junior sailor who graduated from HS/Has a GED but has a 10 on the ASVAB...or one who didn't graduate from HS and has a 50 ASVAB score?
I'd rather have the latter because someone scoring a 10 usually means that they just don't give a fukk, or gave handjobs to pass high school...or both:mjlol:.

In the military, the #1 thing that is preached is "be motivated". Being motivated can take you far.

And also, if you score a 10, you're going to be undes. Ain't no way around that:pachaha:
