but it doesn't mean that those people will actually watch and consume the product after.

Yeah you got a point there. I personally stayed up just to see punk return and capture the moment live. But I don't plan on continuing to stay up to watch Rampage again, or even the final 30 mins to an hour of smackdown either. I'm sure I not the only only who stayed up just to see the first 25 minutes of Rampage. Call me a wwe shill yall, because I know that's what yall are thinking lol:yeshrug:

Dudes saying it’s not enough for a 10 PM time slot on Friday. Let me repeat: 10 PM on Friday. The nerve of y’all cornballs. :dead:

The goalpost is always going to be moved when it comes to AEW.

Anyone expecting some crazy high number like 2 million or some shyt is either delusional or acting in bad faith.

I was personally expecting close to 1.5 the way the day was all hyped up and shyt. But I've already explained my reasoning :russ:

Glad punk is happy and healthy again

:usure:

By the way your responding in this thread you could of fooled me.

People started whining and getting offended by what I said :yeshrug:

The emotional attachment and investment that people have with these type of discussions and get so offended is laughable. You can't even make a comment on here without someone taking offense and getting defensive over it.

It's just the internet and it's not that serious out here worth getting emotional over.

Since 2014, the number of people who have cut the cord on their cable, satellite or telco subscription (or never had a subscription at all) has more than tripled, going from 15.6 million to a projected 50.4 million this year.

The Number Of Cord Cutters And Cord Nevers Has Tripled Since 2014

:beli:

Yet there's still 79.4 million people with cable out here, so what's your point :beli:

You should also know that you're eventually going to end back up with cable again when it's all said and done as the majority of these streaming services will have to combine in order to survive. Thus, creating the concept of what cable is/was supposed to be.

Producing constant content for a streaming service isn't cheap.

We went from Dynamite will do 500k and lose to NXT to Dynamite only did a million because debut and won’t do a million again, now we’re here. CM Punk has always been a star, and the 2020 booker and promoter of the year will
make him shine even brighter.

I could care less about engaging in these stan wars with y'all as it's really not that serious :laff:

Why are you getting defensive? You had an opinion and I responded, nothing more than that. We have weekly evidence that the current ceiling for wrestling audiences is 2 million. Getting 1.1 million of that is nothing to downplay. This is a good thing for wrestling in general

You aren't the only one that responded to my comment though. Other people did and their tone was completely different than yours.

One organization is giving time to a talented former champion, the other is doing storylines with a possessed doll. They are not the same.
I think he was parodying what the response was gonna be from WWE marks.
Regardless though both company’s have plenty of goofy shyt breh so I wouldn’t really die on that hill

I'd say 75% of my friends group don't have cable. They all just stick with Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, etc.. Cable subscriptions are down across the board from where they were a few years ago.
Your friend group are the ones who answer the phones when you call cable companies so can they not have it?

Breh. Millenials & Gen Z are the ones cutting the cord. Millenials and Gen Z (and younger Gen X'ers) are the target demographic for AEW. The fact that they pulled that number on a Friday late night on cable is IMPRESSIVE. I don't really understand why you don't understand that or trying to downplay that.

Who tried to downplay it though :dwillhuh:

You made the assumption from my comment and made more out of what I said when I was just making an observation. I could care less about continuing this conversation as that wasn't even my original intent when I made that comment that you seem to have taken offense to.
