Let’s all just hope and pray that AEW doesn’t fukk this up lol. They gotta be very careful on how they handle this going forward but they got all the momentum in pro wrestling right now.

They have more hits than misses, I don’t think the worry should be whether or not they’ll successfully follow it up. Even if they weren’t to fully stick the landing, theoretically, it still wouldn’t look as bad as WWE’s fukk ups right now. As long as WWE stays setting the bar low creatively, all they have to do is clear that and they’ll be fine.

I don't watch ratings like that but I assume raw gets around 1.7 ish and smackdown gets a little over 2 ish

The numbers they did in the ranked demographics matched or almost matched the most recent Smackdowns and beat Raw, for a 10pm slot to get that by a 2 year old start up is extremely remarkable

Also, to me there is definitely an upper bound limit for wrestling viewers. This isn't the attitude era where it's part of the cultural fabric. Seems like there's a limit to the ratings. Saying they should have done more seems a bit much. But the real test is to see whether they can sustain the momentum, which I doubt.

These AEW/WWE fans are going at each others necks over crumbs. I guess if you want to fight over who has the most crumbs go ahead. But wrestling is not a relevant powerhouse in 2021 and Punk, Bryan, Cole, Bray, Cena, Lesnar nobody is changing that

The truth is that buzz isn't going to be beaten anytime soon by AEW or WWE for that matter because there's nobody left that's been gone for that amount of time that people want to see. Bryan won't be close bc you've seen him more recently than Punk

TBH, I am not one for ratings now as I think as people cut cable more than ever... and if internet television won't provide statistics on viewership... you have to go off of social media (even if there are bots) trends.
