It's not a normal time at all for wrestling, we're literally talking about 9pm central time which isn't that late at all especially consider the fact that other shows on cable still get 1M+ viewers in those slots. For all the hype around Punks return, the majority of people would have rather watched it on social than live.

Not to mention the fact that he was on at the top of the hour, so they could have easily dipped out after he left. Those ratings aren't that good with how much people hyped his return.

Ehhh It's their biggest number since the Dynamite debut, despite a shytty time slot on a Friday night in the middle of the summer, with nothing but subtle-hint advertising only non-casuals would pick up on.

That's undoubtedly a win for the Turner/AEW marriage.

I don't think it's bashing by any means. If anything, it's reasonable to have high expectations, even though Turner might have a different idea. These days, for a show (let alone a wrestling show) to drop 1.1 mil at 10PM on a Friday after a good portion of the viewerbase just watched two hours of a similar product elsewhere.......that's a huge win in most networks' eyes.
