So those aren't classics is that what you're telling me? :ld:

no. What I'm telling you is that 3 rap hits doesn't put you in the GOAT conversation. Those 3 tracks are cool but they're not Memory Lane, Unbelievable, Incarcerated Scarfaces, Shook Ones... see where I'm going with this?

Rashad Smith got more genuine hip hop bangers than Trackmasters, and Rashad Smith is in zero GOAT conversations

Does "The Message" sound like a pop song to you though? Keep it real.

and before you start talking about "that's just the sample", it's all about how you flip it and the grit you bring to it. That's what makes it hip hop. Trackmasters made The Message sound all soft and shyt, similar to the original Sting record. Crossover shyt.

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
People need to stop overrating IWW.

It's like a tier 3 album.

And tbh I came to the realisation that the main reason that Nas is sometimes boring is largely down to beat selection, though his lacklustre delivery never helps.

Thank God he has a wicked pen game.
Negged :dwillhuh: unless you got a thousand tiers

I think I need your tier 1s before further comment :ehh:

for the record I could give a damn about a neg lol

but anyway:

a tier 1 album is what I'd call a GOAT contending album: The Chronic, It Takes a Nation, Cuban Linx, Liquid Swords, Illmatic, 36 Chambers, AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted, Ready to Die, ATLiens

now a tier 0 is when you personally out of that list of tier 1 albums hold some above the rest of the pack

a tier 2 album is still classic-worthy but a notch below: e.g. The Predator, It Was Written, Follow the Leader, Dare iz a Darkside

but even then it is all subjective, I know there are some tier 2 albums people consider GOAT and vice-versa with regards to tier 1

but general consensus-wise I'm talking here...

You think that's it? That was just a quick three off the top of my head.
Ill Street Blues
Juicy
I'll Be There/You're All I Need
I Shot Ya
If I Ruled The World
Affirmative Action
Street Dreams Remix
Hate Me Now
Horse & Carriage
Ghetto Quran
Jigga that Nikka
Best of Me Pt. 2

All their R&B shyt was hip hop inspired they contributed to hip hop soul genre and made more classics with R. Kelly, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, etc. And their early shyt was with Chubb Rock and Big Daddy Kane.

Trackmasters have classics for days :wow:

Premier, Havoc, L.E.S., Live Squad was all on there too.

If you hate Street Dreams I take it you hate Pac's All Eyez On Me too given its the same sample flipped the same way but with different bassline. I prefer the remix but the original is dope too.

Black Girl Lost beat is perfect given the theme of the song and the fact it features Jodeci. Also, the skit is classic.

Watch Dem nikkas is heat :what:
Pac made it hot :yeshrug:

Watch Dem nikkas is aight.. Like I said... It sounds like pop producers who read a manual on east coast hip hop production. The beat has such a basic swing too it... Premo n 'em knew how to swing their beats with ghost notes and subtle techniques.

Geez H Christ. Terrible list :snoop:

I'm not knocking Trackmasters' RnB prowess but being great hip hop producers? hell no.

This list is kind of weak actually.
