My bro applied for stocker job at a grocery store. They told him it will be a 3 round interview process

Would you do 3 different interviews to stock shelves

Eh As someone who used to work in a large supermarket (ShopRite in East Orange, NJ real ones know) as a stocker back in the day. It's a much more difficult job than you may think. First off it's really a 3 pronged process. Unpacking truck loads, putting them in carts/u-boats and stacking the shelves. You have to be fast, efficient and focused. Every second counts and depending on your shift you have to do it while being courteous and helpful to the current customers.

Not everyone is built for that and firing/hiring/training people is costly. Not to mention watching out for thieves, addicts etc.

It’s not impossible to believe.

People steal.

You want to make sure that he has a history of being responsible.

Plus this is probably for the stock manager role.

It's a side gig. Probably has a lot of competition. Lots of folks applied.

Not know how many folks apply for part time work, brehs....

Me and cousin were working at the same summer when I was a stock boy. He actually stayed with the company and works in the HR Dept now. They had a hiring event at the same super market maybe 2 weeks ago. 350 applicants.

Myself and my own.
UPS will hire you at the same rate unloading trucks, no interview really needed.

Amazon will hire you, 1 interview.

Cricket and Boost Mobile stores will same day interview and hire you as a store manager making 12 bucks an hour.

If you have a car and no dui, Uber eats, no interview, you'll make more.

You can't be serious.
This. This is the point I came to make. As a business owner, you have to be aware of the fact that the very people you want to hire, may very well go somewhere else if they feel your requirements are too stringent. It's tempting to hire only people who can walk on water but you will have to be honest and ask yourself why those people would want to work for you, regardless of the level or position. Not being mindful of this means you will not be able to compete with others and may every well end up with the refuse and cast-offs from the other companies, the very thing you did not want in the first place.

A good business owner knows he or she does not operate in a vacuum and that you are competing with others constantly.

You don't need any experience or skills for retail. It shouldn't be more than a phonecall asking if you're ok doing this and that.

Their application forms alone are insulting :mjlol:I only had one retail job because a friend got me in
