Oceanside Carlsbad Encinitas are all nice North County but it’s not really San Diego like that. You’ll be 40 minutes from the city (but those are all beach areas, really beautiful but lots of old white people).
If you’re a young professional you want to be in Mission Valley or downtown
It’s too hard to generalize but I’m a native and still live here so if you want to chat hit me up
Aye bruh, what are some good spots to eat in SD? Going with my shorty next month.
tika kitchen was good and tacos el Gordo was good
The beach areas are appealing to me, almost more so than being central to the city. I hang out in Orange County a lot when I'm out there too, so being a bit North wouldn't be the worst thing. I've also been looking at San Marcos.
I'd be in my early 40's when I move with a soon-to-be 18-year-old, so I'd want something lowkey enough to be safe and somewhat family-oriented, but also with some sort of food/drink scene and young vibe nearby/within a short drive.
I'll definitely be hitting you up with questions breh, much appreciated.

In 2-3 yrs you're going to be looking at 800k to a cool million for a basic house out here if things remain the way they are. But look at North County its nice up here I live in the Escondido/ San Marcos areaAs with any major life-altering decision I make, I figured I'd consult the brehs...
Long story short, I'm planning a move to San Diego in the next 2-3 years to coincide with my kid graduating HS.
I'd be looking to either rent for the first year or purchase a home straight away (budget around $600-700K) and was curious if anyone had any advice on neighborhoods to avoid and others to pinpoint? I've been looking a lot at Oceanside, Pacific Beach, Carlsbad and Encinitas so was curious if anyone on the board lived in the area and could provide some insight.
I've been told to avoid Imperial Beach, Oak Park and National City.
It’ll be hard to find homes in your desired range in those areas. But maybe as a single man you can find something smaller in that range
What are you looking for? Where are you staying?
lowkey spot for fresh fish/seafood is a spot called “Bluewater”
mexican food all over the place, sushi ramen and Asian food all over the place
“Top of the Market” is an upscale fish/steak place on the harbor
there’s good food all over
You aren’t buying anything with that budget but a mobile home. Not trying to be harsh but keeping it straight.
Bruh... no WAY that SD is more expensive than hawaii. That budget is definitely doableYou aren’t buying anything with that budget but a mobile home. Not trying to be harsh but keeping it straight.
Good Looks bruh, any dope places/scenic spots to recommend?
