With A's move to Vegas plus Raiders already there and Warriors across the bay on SF, I don't think any city has lost that many sports teams in such a small window of time. Bay area looks to be 13th biggest metro area which is odd cuz NY, LA, and Chicago make up top 3 and have two teams so not sure how the bay area does also. Don't know what the attendance numbers have been like for the A's or Giants over the years but I know the A's one hasn't been too good. Doesn't seem like baseball too popular out there with Niners and Warriors seeming to be the popular teams.

Oh look, here’s the league threatening yet another major city 3 years in advance :stopitslime: . This shyt is way bigger than just Oakland and the A’s.

This happens every time a teams lease is near expiration. It's not some insidious plot, its how the negotiations work.

Only team that's really at risk of relocation is the Coyotes.

It's too large an area for that. I mean who in NC is driving 6+ hours to a Braves game? I think it's feasible in a couple areas. NC specifically.

To think that people in Appalachia are going to drive 6+ hrs to see a team in North Carolina is still wild.

even trying to get the Hampton Roads area to come is going to be a hassle simply because of how that area isn't directly connected to a major interstate to get there.

The irony is the A's bum ass owner is the biggest reason the Raiders are in Vegas

Oakland has NO sports teams in the big 4. That means the tax revenue for the city going 👎. What happened, Oakland?

It's probably actually going to go up. The cities that give those stadium packages to the owners end up losing money. Oakland will be fine, but considering the Warriors are the only team in the upper peninsula that can cross over the bridge they're going to earn a lot more in valuation by taking over the east bay with no competition. I'm willing to bet they're going to try to sneak a WNBA team there.

The NFL and MLB gave up it's foothold in the wealthiest region in the country (at worst it's 2nd wealthiest) to the NBA because both teams were owned by owners too poor to compete with the new owners in their sport.

This is why I doubt any fans will show up. He’s got more seasons with the A’s dead last in payroll than above the bottom 1/3 of the majors.

hopefully the owners also unanimously vote to somehow get Fisher out of there once they're in Vegas either way.
