On one hand I'm happy that Vegas is getting a baseball franchise on the other hand I feel terrible for the fans in Oakland and the Bay area...I got family from there and they are certified loyal A's fans...Vegas took their football team too :francis:

There's a gang of people from the bay that live in Las Vegas tho so that should help with attendance

man it seems that Vegas is getting all the sports teams

Oh look, here’s the league threatening yet another major city 3 years in advance :stopitslime: . This shyt is way bigger than just Oakland and the A’s.

that's because these cities (residents and govt) allow themselves to be blackmailed. what's the worse that can happen? you don't get a tax hike to build a stadium for some billionaire and he moves the team to another city because they're willing to prostitute themselves? california sure is suffering because those pro teams moved to the desert. the NFL left for decades and came running back with the owner footing the bill for the stadium. if everyone stood their ground, none of this would happen, but there will always be some whore city willing to spread their legs because they have nothing else going on for their full-time residents.

It's weird there are no teams between DC and Atlanta on the east coast. I know there are a lot of minor league affiliates there. Weird they don't get a baseball team in the MLB, VA, WV, NC, SC, KY, TN nothing. Weird.

Nashville and Charlotte are two of the front runners for expansion when they add two teams

that area is braves country.

those locations would suffer from the same problems the florida teams have, weak attendance with actual baseball fans caring about other teams.

It's too large an area for that. I mean who in NC is driving 6+ hours to a Braves game? I think it's feasible in a couple areas. NC specifically.

Charlotte would be great city for baseball. They have really supported the AAA team downtown over the years.

It’s crazy.

Corporate welfare at its finest. Taxpayers making billionaires more money and can’t even access the facilities easily. These investments almost always work out more favorably for the owners than the places they go

I’m sorry but Florida doesn’t deserve baseball. Both Tampa Bay & Miami averaged 17,000 & 14,000 fans a game, respectively. Pathetic.
Marlins fans don’t show up because the team holds a fire sale every time they build a team with potential. 3 playoff appearances in their 30+ year history.

It's Amazing that within 10 years Vegas will have added 4 major pro franchises and built 4 new stadiums/arenas ...plus the Aces and hosted a Superbowl a Final Four and F1 race...10 years ago Vegas wasn't even allowed to have a commercial broadcast during the Superbowl and 0 pro franchises
