Damn that’s a great point I didn’t even think of. If he’s supposed to be this rich prick who can afford to keep someone like Wardlow on salary, why would he care about what he’s paid in kayfabe? His only concerns should be amount of TV time (he gets a ton) and title shots (he loses every feud)
That's why that crybaby shoot made no sense other to destroy the logic of the rest of the product around it. He's a rich affluent guy. But now he's mad he's underpaid. He walks around paying off people and wrestlers every week. What's real and why should we care that now he needs money?

The thing that makes me cringe the most about worked shoot promos is when they name drop real names (“This isn’t CM Punk talking to HHH, this is Phil Brooks speaking to Paul Levesque!” Lame) but it was amusing hearing him clarify that it wasn’t Maxwell Jacob Friedman talking, it was…Max Friedman talking. Oh. Okay. :mjlol:

Big facts. It's like he had bullet points of what makes a good work shoot. :russ:
  1. Introduce yourself as your "real self" to the crowd
  2. Discard any gimmick
  3. Run down peers you're better than in the back
  4. Reference other companies
  5. Turn on crowd if they agree
  6. Tell the boss/authority off

This dude is going to work himself into a shoot, and end up getting an NXT developmental contract offer from WWE because he won’t have the leverage of using AEW in the negotiations.

He’s greatly over valuing his worth to WWE. He’s under 6 foot and looks like an accountant with a Gold’s Gym membership, that doesn’t scream Wrestlemania main eventer. He can talk, but look how far that got guys like Eli Drake and EC3. The only reason Vince would give him a huge deal would be if it could hurt the competition.

Yeah, Vince would definitely make him a manager on the main roster. He is Miz but without the similar physique and without the skins on the wall

Rich people always want more money though. Why do you think they always laying off people citing budget cuts when they pocket millions of dollars a week? Like Elon Musk is going to lay off 10% of his Tesla staff but managed to secure billions in funding to buy Twitter.

It just feels like AEW has hit a wall a creatively. Every idea is a call back to the past....it's all just recycling shyt like the nWo, Austin vs McMahon, Summer of Punk, old Jim Crockett and Mid South angles....they can't actually do anything that feels fresh and original. That's the only way they're truly gonna truly move the needle.
