That is some shyt that I do miss - office/management changes. Dudes be on some other shyt all year, then a new chief comes in and everyone is :lupe:

the wrong person writing evals changes everything :mjlit:

is it true cats really be on that sus shyt in the army?

a breh I went to high school with told me how somebody tried to put they dikk in his mouth when he was sleep during bootcamp and he said cats be on the weirdo shyt like that.
Yeah it's true. Cacs and c00ns did that type of stuff to people when I was in boot camp and MCT. They didn't try it with me because I was older and more mature than most of the people in my training platoon and they knew I wasn't down with that BS and didn't tolerate it. One cac put his balls on another recruits face while he was sleeping and got his nose broken because of it. :pachaha:

I was in the Marines but only served 17 months so never deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan and never been on a ship deployment. My mother got cancer and since I was the only responsible child I got a hardship discharge so I could help take care of her while she went through chemo and recovery.

It was weird serving because my mom's husband/stepfather was a NOI Muslim and that whole side of the family was either NOI, very militant, or hotep. Not the stereotypical type but militant nonetheless. I went a good chunk of my adolescence and early teens hearing about the white man is the devil, not to join the white man's military, etc so ending up in the military was kind of funny and ironic.

I went in older than the average recruit and everyone in my platoon was 17-19 years old. It was hard for me to adjust because not only was I :flabbynsick: compared to the others but was so used to having my own place, full time job, not being told what to do, etc to go to having my life regimented for three months was really shocking. A lot of recruits had never left their hometown, never had a job or at least a full time job, never lived away from their parents, etc so they were fascinated by me because I had done things they've never experienced yet.

If you do enlist GET EVERYTHING YOUR RECRUITER PROMISES YOU IN WRITING. They will lie and say anything to get you in because at the end of the day they're salesmen and their job is to meet their quota. When I enlisted it was at the height of the Iraq War over a decade ago when they were struggling to meet their goals so it might be better now.

I have a few more stories but probably not as interesting as others since I didn't serve long. :ld:

What did the NOI side of ur fam say when u joined? My pops is cool with one & he think it’s a good idea to join but not for reasons u would think. He thinks it’s a good idea to learn tactics/skills/marksmanship and come back and teach it.

Well my mom and stepdad had been divorced at that point but we still kept in touch. Although my mom and him divorced they were still on great terms and he treated me like I was his biological son.

They were mainly shocked/surprised because based on my personality the Marines were the branch they would least expect. Some were upset but at the same time they knew I wasn't serving on some "God Bless America" tip and was serving because I wanted the benefits and was always adventurous. One of my great uncles on that side of the family served in Vietnam as a Force Recon Marine so he gave me some good advice.

Once cousin was like "your going to be on some Spook Who Sat by the door" tip. :banderas:

The Army is big on getting people in it who half ass wanna serve

Hurts quality but gets the quantity we need since we are the biggest branch

Like other brehs have stated in this thread, dont get married while serving. A lot of dudes get married because you get more benefits and shyt but your wife will be fukking civilians and POG's while your out in the field(if your infantry or something related). Seen it happen to a lot of suckers. One dumb ass married a waitress from San Diego and she ended up fukking three other dudes in our company. I never fukked because I felt bad and sorry for the guy plus she really wasn't that attractive.

thinking about the Air Force want to know if anyone here can give insight/pros/cons

***also wanted to know about vacation/time to travel while in service
Don't do it unless you got your job locked in, it requires you to take some college level classes (medical, x-ray technician, cyber security etc) if your recuriter taking about some Open general shyt or trying to say some bullshyt like, "that job won't be open until XYZ, dead that shyt and tell him to hit you up when it's open"

Stay away from maintenance, and Security forces.

shyt, be services if u just wanna coast. And work out before you go. If you not physically there, your mental state gonna fold because basic training aint even that hard.

The only thing that ever bothered me physically were the runs. Long distance, three times a week on asphalt murdered my knees. And I've got a track background too. I had it rough in basic because as a sprinter my heels just don't touch the ground - there was crazy stress on my knees. I could've easily got mebd out in bct. Couldn't even walk at one point because my bands were so tight.

Being a fat kid in basic though? You deserve everything you get. I appreciated the few female drill sergeants I had too because they were consistently hard on hoes. They'd make your life hell if you got caught trying to :cape:

Ha, from what I hear on security forces, the most disheartening part is hanging out at lackland another 3 months right after basic.

Also, do yourself a favor and be able to hit 90+ on the PT test before you land... basic isn’t the best environment to improve your score (especially if you’re in danger of failing) given the endless grind and dfac diet. I think they recycle you back a flight once or twice if you fail (someone please correct me if wrong) your final test in basic, but at OTS they let you go and will *maybe* bring you back if slots are open... I saw way too many people fail out due to that. No excuse given you have almost a full year to prepare.

I remember graduating and my homie was on some :mjcry: because he found out his tech school down the street.

:mjlol: I know after them extra 3 months his bowling was perfection.

That’s the biggest issue I see. Usually when we turn people away they huff and puff like well imma go join the Army ok breh do you. It just hurts the actual good soldiers who actually want to be there because those people usually end up washing out anyway

Joining the military was like joining the real world. I was always a recluse and that all changed when I shipped out.

Emotionally and mentally it wasn't challenging. Both my parents were military, my dad was supposed to be a drill sergeant and my mother still works with soldiers today so when they had us scrubbing the floors with toothbrushes and area clean up it felt like home. It was only physically challenging because I have no kind of tolerance for severe heat or cold.

I witnessed a lot of fukkery :francis:
I was a huge prude, I'm still kinda am but I'm trying to be more accepting. I didn't understand why people were sneaking off to hook up. A friend I made was getting played by a guy using her, knocked her up and she had an abortion :francis:
Another battle buddy that I have currently only messed with older men and she got knocked up by one who already had two or three kids and so she aborted her baby :snoop:
My closest friend, who got medboarded out, was with a older staff sergeant while she was still a specialist and I had never met him because by the time I got to the unit he had retired but later down the road I found out he was still married and she was his mistress :gucci:

There was a weird dude that stalked one of our Persian linguists downrange and went into her room to "collect evidence" thinking she was messing with a soldier :mjlol: they sent his ass back so quick we didn't know what happened to him until we asked.

Male to female ratio downrange was alarming. If I didn't have the m16 they issued us a five in blade. I worked night shifts and in a facility owned by the Afghan police/army. Those dudes were alarmingly chummy with detainees too :patrice:

Any Army persons been to Air Assault? They're offering course dates to us now but idk about that 12 mile ruck :patrice:
It'll be great for promotion points though.

Any of y’all intel I’m thinking of joining the marines

Don't do it...in any branch. You'll be battling with your morale depending on what you do and the skill sets they give you only benefit you in the FBI, CIA world or more deployments...which you should do if you intend on changing how they operate.
