I don't discount the value of Sabermetrics, but I definitely love seeing the stans of those stats so miserable. Those acting as if Trout got robbed are just as bad as those that feel a triple crown is an automatic MVP.

he'd prolly win if there was no ped backlash imo. his stats are superior to posey's and while catcher is the hardest defensive position by far, Im not sure they offset braun's #s

They do when you look at the park-adjusted numbers. Although I doubt many writers used them as part of their reasoning, Posey def. had the narrative.

Woman A: Good. Triple Crown always deserves the MVP. Good.

Woman B: Agreed. You know, they'd made some noise about Trout being better at defense and such, but he's a rookie, so he still has a lot to prove before he can get an MVP.

Woman A: Exactly. Show me something next year and the year after. Rookies should never win MVP.

Woman B: It's like a freshman winning the Heisman. Unless you rush for 3,000 yards, you should never win the Heisman as a freshman. Pay your dues.
