The safety issue is an issue, but the G-League teams get police escorts to and from games and they all live in what's considered the Beverly Hills of Mexico City. If you have a family though, the issue will come with how your child is educated.

The bigger issue is that Mexico City is over 7000 feet above sea level, so some guys can't play in those conditions if they got respiratory issues and even if you don't, the thin air will kick your ass

Mexico City is massive and could possibly be a gold mine for the league. Player and team security would be the major issue
They would immediately become Mexico's favorite basketball team. The merchandise alone would be printing money.

It's also inevitable, basketball is only so popular in the US. Expanding to a new country just makes sense in the long run.

The other bullshyt(race, cartels, living in Mexico) is a problem though.

So basically it’s like playing in Denver

mexico is a cool option . but the life around ball is the issue... fam life . education .. they would really need to up that infrastructure if they want to house a team.. Gon became a little US bubble down there, which in turn could cause another set of issues.

Its like the last frontier of North America. A city the size of New York, maybe even bigger, that nobody in the states rarely travel to or even talk about even though a lot of work from home Americans have took up roots there. At worst Mexico City should've at least been the Toronto of the south. I believe there's a Mexico City thread in TLR.

Put them in Monterrey then

1770 above sea level and it's the financial/industrial capital arguably
