This is kind of a short sighted view IMO.

Mexico is largely untapped when it comes to basketball talent. You're saying nobody would want to play there, but all it takes is some luck in a draft and the team there getting a great talent and it could impact the entire country's interest in the sport. Toronto and Canada as a whole are not producing as much talent if not for legit star caliber players like Vince Carter, T-Mac and DeRozan.

It would take 1 guy to understand that, see it as a challenge and embracing it and who knows what happens after that.

:wow:

20 years later, we gonna have Mexicans getting drafted in the lottery
Outside of a couple of outliers can't see Mexico as a country producing NBA talent like that. They have a better chance at producing NFL players than NBA players

After spending significant time in Mexico, i don't see why not. Players security isn't at any more risk than in Houston or Baltimore that has similar rates as Mexico City. Placing an arena in Polanco or Interlomas/Santa Fe would sell very quick. Mexican soccer stars already get paid in the millions and move pretty freely in Mexico. I love Houston but we had some high profile murders/violent robberies in the last 5 years and usually in very Public places like downtown and uptown but i don't think the city itself is dangerous (the same applies to CDMX). In Mexico as long as you're not flaunting extremely wealth wrecklessly, you will be fine.

U know damn well no NBA players or draftees wanna go to Mexico City and have to set up home there :dahell:

They can do like some internationals do now in the States. Keep your primary residence in your hometown and send money back home. :pachaha:

Norfeast groovin…
There are a lot of cities that should get a team before Mexico City and that’s no knock on CMX. Plus travel logistics might be tricky. If you gon fly that far then Montreal might be better. shyt, if they want a Spanish speaking spot then why not PR?

I definitely feel you and this is no diss to STL or KC but those cities don't do anything for the league that they don't already have now in places like Cleveland, Milwaukee, Minnesota, etc. A team in Mexico City could possibly rake in billions upon billions and have that whole country behind the team.

:mjlol:YEA IF THE TEAM
WAS FULL OF ACTUAL MEXICANS

THEY AINT RALLYING

Spears said it's 3.5 hours from LA to CDMX.

As for PR, Mexico has an edge in that they have an NBA quality arena already in place.

I don’t know why everybody is ignoring this point, how are white Mexicans going to react too a black team and league
The closest u can get with Mexico is having little tournaments in the city similar to the nfl and london, but having a whole ass team is a step too far especially when you got American cities still who could support a team
