Terrible idea. Mexico City isn’t that close. The travel miles that team would have to endure :picard:

Logistically this makes zero sense

Had to look on google maps, it's far as fukk.

Going to every NBA game like

LMAO.. fukking Calgary...they can't even secure an arena deal for their hockey team, you know... the one sport Canadian cacs care for, and they will have one ready for a NBA team? :mjlol:

Montreal might work because of it's sheer market size but you are always gonna be second fiddle with no hope for upward movement and the language issue is a major deterrent. The Expos were averaging below 10k at one point in the early 00's and they bolted. Risky venture going there for the NBA. Those frogs aint gonna support the team. :stopitslime:

The Saddledome is asscheeks I can't even lie :patrice:

But when it comes to team revenue, attendance and whatnot both locations are miles ahead of Vancouver. GM Place is pretty busted itself if we're being honest.

Also baseball is a different kinda ball game. The sheer magnitude of games played changes the dynamic a bit. The way these fools pack in the bell centre it's honestly just French Toronto when it comes to events. Only problem is again it's in the eastern conference and we have enough teams there.

Edmonton secured their deal but they're just as bad as Vancouver when it come to attendance so fukk them. There really is only one logical option for Canadian expansion :manny:

Six bodies hung from bridges near Mexico's Los Cabos tourist resort
DECEMBER 20, 2017 / 3:00 PM / A DAY AGO

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - The bodies of six men were found hanging from three different bridges near the Mexican tourist resort of Los Cabos on the Baja California peninsula on Wednesday, local authorities said.

The authorities did not give details on what happened to the men, but drug gangs often hang the bodies of their murdered victims in public to intimidate rivals. Drug gang violence is set to make 2017 Mexico’s deadliest year in modern history.

Two bodies were found on a bridge in Las Veredas, near Los Cabos International Airport, and two on a different bridge on the highway between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, local prosecutors said in a statement.

In a separate statement, the prosecutors said two further bodies were found on a third bridge near the airport.

An official from the prosecutor’s office, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the bodies of the men had been hung from the bridges.

Violent crime has spiked in Baja California, particularly around the once peaceful resort of Los Cabos visited by million of foreign tourists every year. Los Cabos police chief Juan Manuel Mayorga was shot dead last week.

Mexico is on track for its most violent year since records began, with the rise of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, now one of the country’s most powerful, and disputes between other criminal groups fueling murder rates.

On Tuesday, authorities in the northern state of Chihuahua said 12 people were killed in clashes between armed groups.

The governor of the state of Baja California Sur, Carlos Mendoza Davis, said that authorities were investigating the incidents near Los Cabos.

“I condemn these acts and any expression of violence. Today more than ever in #BCS we should be united,” he said via Twitter, using the hashtag for the state’s initials.

Homicides have more than doubled in Baja California Sur this year, with 409 people killed through October, from 192 in all of 2016. In June authorities said they had found a mass grave with the bodies of 11 men and three women near Los Cabos.

More than 4.4 million passengers, mostly international, have passed through Los Cabos Airport so far this year, according to operator Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico.

NORTH LAS VEGAS
Vegas would be a good option but I don't know if the NBA wants to compete with the NFL and NHL plus all the other entertainment options in the city.
Vegas is next up...there's a tangible surge to get pro sports in Vegas right now...the local politicians I.e. the mayor and governor have partnered with the business community to make it happen...the infrastructure is in place or being built and money isn't an issue here...Vegas will get it somewhere...the city has acquired 3 pro sports teams in the matter of a year...the nba is on deck

Vancouver doesn't deserve another chance at an NBA Franchise. I'd rather see other Canadian cities get their first crack like Calgary and Montreal before BC gets a team. Horrific attendance when the grizzlies were there from what I remember.

what are the most urban cities in Canada anyway?
