Black people under-index in terms of representation in tech and you got this guy talking about “black people with skills will be fine” :mjlol:

Some of you all need to spend some time on the site Blind to get an unvarnished perspective on how the gatekeepers view DEI.

Meanwhile, in NYC finance, I know people who bytch about DEI yet they only got their internship / job because of who their daddy plays golf with on the weekends.

Keep thinking it’s about who is the “most qualified”

We going back to the 1940s where all the good paying white collar jobs goes to CACs while everyone else gets scraps with zero workers rights. :damn:

And next time, call out the poster by his name and ridicule him appropriately :unimpressed:

A lot of these things started around the BLM/George Floyd situation. If they thought these diversity management jobs that don’t add to the company’s bottom line, would last forever, then they’re not that smart…

Most the shyt was bullshyt they used to hire a few black women and say see we aint racist. And in Tech the DEI folks were often on some BLM leadership champagne balling shyt. Look at Afrotech its known more for hookups and parties than black folks mobilizing.

Some of you do realize that the anti-DEI push is going to trickle down to a lot of the fields you work in. As tech goes, everyone else follows. Even if Black people are underrepresented in tech they are still there.

This is a means of cutting off the the oxygen and shutting doors for Black people to enter the middle class way more aggressively.

This is what people need to understand

Having skills has never been the thing to get 99% of people their jobs. Access to those with hiring power, followed by “likability”/“culture fit” have always been the main factors. Unsurprisingly black people don’t generally have the access nor are they part of the culture fit white managers look for. Skills don’t matter when you can’t get in the door
I hate it when they say we need to go back to hiring based on merit. As if companies stopped hiring the best available candidates when DEI started.

All competent black folk want is an opportunity. And that is not fair apparently, it’s racist to whites. I already know I have to work harder than everyone else to dispel the stereotypes and know there is a limit to how high I can go. Meanwhile mediocre white people crying that they have to compete with people for jobs? They have the power to change the rules back in their favour and don’t even realize that privilege. These people still mad as fukk over Obama

Every black worker has been undermined. It was like that before, DEI has made it worse because now the racists have somerhing tangible they can reference.

This is why we shouldn't be dependent on this shyt for life, it's too toxic. Those of us who can get in need to get capital and GTFO and form parallel entities/take expertise to other markets.

it’s so important to have black faces in positions of power. Black VPs, black hiring managers, etc. take education seriously. Work together. They want us in the dirt begging for crumbs.

When Black people with sense speak on this board, it's so obvious. It's like half this board has regressed mentally.
