Mavs .5 game out of playoffs, chose to tank to maybe keep a fringe top 10 pick

I mean, teams have tanked entire seasons
This is a good example of using words so much we don’t actually stop to think what it means

“Tanking” has generally meant playing younger players, crafting rosters with younger players. That’s literally all. And historically that’s enough to ensure you lose games

Well todays game is such trash defensively that simply being young won’t ensure you’re bad. See Utah, see OKC. They tried to tank. But they’re not sitting quality players to purposely lose games.

So this is completely different and much, much worse

At some point people will have to realize that everybody just isn't built like Kobe or MJ was, so it's disingenuous and unfair to keep using those guys as the basis of a talking point of what they would have done.

I left it out bc it doesn’t apply. It’s top 10 or bust.

Also bc I was gona make the same point you made, noting that you’re probably better off drafting in the late lottery/early teens instead of 8-10 range. 8-10 range is that no mans land of guys drafted on potential, but not good enough to go higher. Also name brand factors in, who you’re ‘supposed’ to pick. 11 and lower teams take more risks and can go off gut and not worry about being criticized

And then you factor its Dallas. They’re like a WR being drafted to the ravens :francis: They not gon do shyt but stifle someone’s game anyway. They’re looking for a specific type of player so they’re gonna put him in a box. And you factor in it’s a likely 1 n done so he’ll be a year away from being a year away

It does apply because those are the players that were actually on the board when the 10th pick was made, those players would be a lot more relevant to the discussion than guys that were already gone

As long as the draft incentivizes having a worse record, tanking is here to stay. This wouldn’t be the first time Cuban is fined for tanking

But…they weren’t picked. What do you mean ‘players already gone’. That’s who was actually picked.

If a team is picking 10th then the players who were taken 8th and 9th are no longer available to be picked, they’re irrelevant at that point. The guys who were picked 11th, 12th, 13th, etc. were the ones who were actually amongst the pool of players to choose from at that point in the draft. That’s what I mean

That lottery pick is more important when it comes to improving their team. They can trading it for some 3 and d dudes. They really miss DFS

They traded 3 picks, and two good players for no good reason. Seeing as how Kyrie could easily walk at the end of the season. And they arent trying to win this season. But now they care about picks? Why not just keep your role players, your picks, and sign Kyrie in the off season:dahell:? Am I missing something?

If they goin punish Dallas, then punish Ainge and Utah becaue they pulled the same move. Dallas was virtually eliminated, they needed way too much outside help, Utah started tanking a week ago when they had a strong chance to get in and didn’t need as much outside help

Lebron would have mailed it in with a fake injury mid-season if he had to play with some of the garbage lineups Luka played with this season. His second best player was Tim Hardaway for 75% of the season. We can just leave it at that.

Your LeBron hate has rotted your brain. Now that you've moved on from the "Idiotic troll persona who posts embarrassing pictures of himself and talks about masturbating with his nephews", you literally have nothing else to talk about except hating Bron, and it makes you look like a fool.

You're supposedly a Laker fan, right? Did you even SEE the lineups that Bron played with this year?

Here are the starting lineups during that 20 or so game stretch when AD and Reeves were both out:

Schroder
Max Christie
Pat Bev
LeBron
Damien Jones

Juan Toscano-Anderson

You're complaining about Tim Hardaway being the #2 when Bron was playing with lineups that look like a fukking 15-win tanking squad. And yet they played .500 ball during that time, with wins over the Grizzlies and Kings and a 1-point loss to the Sixers during that stretch. It's like you have no clue whatsoever what happened this season.

Bron has NEVER quit midseason because his team was non-competitive. STFU with this nonsense.
