I mean, teams have tanked entire seasons
This is a good example of using words so much we don’t actually stop to think what it meansI mean, teams have tanked entire seasons

The NBA announced it is investigating the Dallas Mavericks over the team's decision to sit several key players for Friday night's 115-112 loss to the Chicago Bulls that eliminated the team from play-in contention.www.espn.com

I left it out bc it doesn’t apply. It’s top 10 or bust.
Also bc I was gona make the same point you made, noting that you’re probably better off drafting in the late lottery/early teens instead of 8-10 range. 8-10 range is that no mans land of guys drafted on potential, but not good enough to go higher. Also name brand factors in, who you’re ‘supposed’ to pick. 11 and lower teams take more risks and can go off gut and not worry about being criticized
And then you factor its Dallas. They’re like a WR being drafted to the ravens They not gon do shyt but stifle someone’s game anyway. They’re looking for a specific type of player so they’re gonna put him in a box. And you factor in it’s a likely 1 n done so he’ll be a year away from being a year away

But…they weren’t picked. What do you mean ‘players already gone’. That’s who was actually picked. It does apply because those are the players that were actually on the board when the 10th pick was made, those players would be a lot more relevant to the discussion than guys that were already gone
As long as the draft incentivizes having a worse record, tanking is here to stay. This wouldn’t be the first time Cuban is fined for tanking

That lottery pick is more important when it comes to improving their team. They can trading it for some 3 and d dudes. They really miss DFS
Dinwiddie woulda cut into that spaceThey traded 3 picks, and two good players for no good reason. Seeing as how Kyrie could easily walk at the end of the season. And they arent trying to win this season. But now they care about picks? Why not just keep your role players, your picks, and sign Kyrie in the off season? Am I missing something?
If they goin punish Dallas, then punish Ainge and Utah becaue they pulled the same move. Dallas was virtually eliminated, they needed way too much outside help, Utah started tanking a week ago when they had a strong chance to get in and didn’t need as much outside helpIt does apply because those are the players that were actually on the board when the 10th pick was made, those players would be a lot more relevant to the discussion than guys that were already gone

Lebron would have mailed it in with a fake injury mid-season if he had to play with some of the garbage lineups Luka played with this season. His second best player was Tim Hardaway for 75% of the season. We can just leave it at that.
