Thread title is wrong. OKC has the tiebreaker so Dallas isn't 0.5 games out of the play-in. They would need to win their last two games AND have OKC lose in order to make the play-in, and Memphis has nothing to play for so it's pretty much guaranteed that OKC was gonna win their final game if they wanted to.

If Dallas was actually trying to miss the playoffs, they wouldn't have played Kyrie 43 minutes and Luka 38 minutes in a 123-119 win over the Kings in their previous game. But then the Thunder beat the Jazz the next night, and it looks like they saw the writing on the wall at that point.

Dallas was shot, they didn't really have a chance anymore.
No.

Luka will ask out next summer.
The mavs should be so lucky cause their are teams who still think he is "superstar player"

Them "he just a chucking coach killer that no one wants to play with" whispers starting to get a little loud though. Hang on to him to long and these tanking teams start winning and they going to be like why would I give you xxx amount of young players and picks for a one way habitually out of shape chucker?"

He just averages 33/9/8, he is the definition of a superstar player and he has carried mediocre to bad rosters for years. They've actually overachieved. but he needs the right pieces around him like another superstar to actually win. His defense and stamina has to improve.

Would love to see that pick get stripped. Modern NBA is a fukking joke in so many ways

What era of the NBA do you think shyt 100x worse than this didn't occur? :wtf:

Teams have tanked for entire seasons, purposely fielded uncompetitive teams cause they didn't feel like paying salaries that year, sold HOF draft picks to other squads for completely non-basketball considerations.....Mavs competed hard for 80 games then dropped TWO games when they had less than 1% chance of making the playoffs and reactionaries are acting like the sky is falling and calling for the draft pick to be taken lol.

Sixers are a title contender right now cause they did this like 328 games in a row lol.

LOL at you saying Luka is the definition of a superstar cause of his stats just hours after you said Bron's stats are meaningless and empty and he didn't impact winning anymore. Even old ass Bron wins more than Luka does.

I watch the games. LeBron James does not inpact winning more than Luka and hasn't in years. Luka has overachieved throughout his career and never had a Anthony Davis to cover for his trash defense nor did he require elite shooters and bigs to clear the paint. Luke is a better player than Lebron in 2023 and it isn't close. It's been that way for years now.
