I like what Steven Soderberg said he regards to defining cinema

Oooo, that quote "The meetings are getting weird. Executives now know less about movies than ever. I know how to drive a car but I wouldn't sit in a meeting with an engineer and proceed to tell him how to make one.":ehh:

You could say the same about music producers. But Even if that’s true his movies are still among the most popular ever.

Goodfellas and Casino get quoted constantly.

“You talking to me”

Jack Nicholas performance in The Departed. These will be remembered forever.

We could go on.

90% of the people that watched Thor 2 probably don’t remember what that shyt was about.

Why would he be bitter? :skip:
Money, noteriety, notstalgia. :francis:

Maybe he feels superior to them and is mad they have those similar accomplishments. He pulled out his PhD saying they aren't cinema and don't convey emotions between people/the audience. :shaq2:

They know this and that's what truly hurts about the criticism of these films. On the sly, lot of these comic book movie fans aren't even fans of those movies like that, its just a pop culture phenomenon they can attach themselves to to be in the moment and feel wanted.

Decades later, people are still watching, analyzing, and referencing Scorsese movies. Is that going to happen with Avengers 6: The Infinity Sock? fukk no.

I don't recall anybody saying he was bitter...then again, if I just crafted my latest 'masterpiece' of cinema that I have to debut on Netflix instead of theaters I might be a bit annoyed.

It's a lot of people BITTER about the comic book genre, Marvel in particular because aside from critiques it steals their shine. Jennifer Lopez just went of in the press about how it's difficult to make movies about humanity because of Marvel.

I’m not entirely sure it’s elitism. Marty likes a lot of B movies from the 50s and 60s and flicks other people in this very forum would look down on lol.

I think your last point is really valid tho and an interesting one. Got me thinking

More interesting would be if Feige actually approached him to make a Marvel movie, the closest thing he's done that's comparable probably is Hugo and that was boring af to me.

Only Marvel movies I’ve seen are Black Panther, and Infinity War.

And yes, I only saw one Avengers movie, and I don’t get the hype.

I’m not a superhero movie guy.

I agree with Scorcese. They are more about the action, and not really a great story.

Actually it will. And long after Scorsese is 6 feet deep they will still be making Marvel movies. :umad:

I love Hugo:russ:

But I don't think he'd do it. It doesn't seem like something he "gets" but maybe if you boil it down to basics he would. He was an executive producer on Joker for a minute so he at least understood an entry into that world. There's no reason for Kevin to holla at him and I think he'd be out of their price range anyway:manny: plus he'd want too much creative control. A Martin Scorsese movie is its own thing
