I go to the movies at least every other week. Almost always on Tuesday, movies are like $6.50 at Cinemark in the Bay. My brother has the rewards program, so drinks and popcorn are significantly cheaper.
I have a pretty good (but dated) home theater system, but I still prefer going to the theaters if possible.

Last year was probably the fewest times I went to the theater since Covid. Last movie for me was Den of Thieves 2 Pantera. I would have waited for this to hit streaming. But, they recently re-opened what had been my favorite theater in my City, and I was off for MLK day so it felt like the thing to do. Unfortunately the Theater isn't up to par from it's previous glory. They say they are still making changes, but it felt like they are making it worse. I should have saw that this at either one of the Regals or AMC in my City. I do feel things hit streaming too quickly, so it has made more movies easier to skip and just wait em out. But, I still enjoy the trips to the theater.

I had to think.. It was Top Gun Maverick too. Used to go all the time, like every week. I even saw Tenet when covid was cooking and nothing was coming out. Between the prices, people talking through the movie, the sound or the mix itself being so loud you can barely hear the dialogue (yeah Chris Nolan..), and the movies dropping on digital or blu-ray in weeks (Nosferatu Blu Ray come out in like 3 weeks), might as well wait and watch it at home on my OLED.

Main reason tho is I can barely stay awake for shyt anymore so I gotta watch em in chunks.

No one is saying people don't go to the movies anymore, but it's no secret that the movie theater industry is in a steep decline.
I don't know what the hell goes on in these people's minds.

"You don't go to the movies a lot? You need to touch grass"

I'm outside every fukkin day :mjlol:

It's just not at the movie theater.

That boring ass movie isn't even worth watching on your phone let alone on the big screen.

Movie going hasn't been the same since COVID. Like I mentioned in the Film Room, cinemas used to packed, nowadays it's almost a ghost town even during a premiere.
