It sucks that Microsoft isn’t trying to compete in the gaming space anymore. But the writings were on the wall with the Bethesda and Activision deal. It’s a good business move gamepass on Xbox platforms and sell physical and digital games on PlayStation and Nintendo switch.
It’s just not possible to spend that much money on major publishers to try to lock their games down to one small dying platform. Sure, cloud/pc, but at this point it’s fair to say they are mostly relying on pc for actual sales, they’ve completely cut off the console market with gamepass, a subscription service that isn’t growing
Stans don’t want to listen, there are major repercussions for continually losing marketshare generation after generation. Can’t handwave it away with “microsoft doesn’t care about selling consoles”, they do, and this is the result of not doing it. they have to open themselves up to more Dominate hardware just like their other software markets
