So "Money Cash Hoes helped Jay heavy" but it didn't "help him sell more"? How exactly did it help him then?

I'm guessing jayz asked dmx for the feature for a reason don't u think??? Or def jam did idk but I'm pretty sure dmx didn't need to be feature on hkl to shine that year ... All I'm sayin is dmx had the streets on smash with idahih ... Hkl did too but the streets were talkin about dmx a lot more
... :childplease:

It don't matter who was rhyming better all that matters is IDAHIH is a better album. Infact Doggystyle & The Chronic shyt on Camammal's discography also :krs:

The Chronic and Doggystyle are much better than IDAHIH.

The rhyming should matter somewhat don't you think?

I was just highlighting how you backtracked over the course of two posts and didn't even admit you were wrong.

How I'm wrong ??? So ur tellin me dmx asked jayz to get featured on money cash hoes??? No I'm pretty sure jayz jumped on the bandwagon like he tends to do like a business man .. He seen that dmx was prolly the hottest rookie that year ... U can front all u want but let's be real for once ... :why:

Proof that Jay asked DMX to be on the album? You clearly dont know the politics of record labels... I'm not sayin he didnt, but that could have EASILY been set up by DefJam to get exposure for Crack Man X... again not sayin it was, but the industry works that way...

then they have Jay get on X's next album... think about it

You went from "it helped him heavy" to "it didn't help him sell records" in the space of consecutive posts. Just admit you were wrong at first. That album didn't sell bc people wanted to check the song with X on it.

No one is on your dikk, news flash, everyone on here has high speed internet, you have 100 posts, and only 5 pages of your viewing history, how long do you seriously think that would take me to view 5 pages? Maybe you still live in 98 where people had dial up internet and it took days to load a single page, I've said it again, it only took a minute to see your posts, I just thought you were an alias at first, Which is all facts and something you can't argue, point is, you admitted to having a one sided view, and admitted if it was another rapper you wouldn't care so much since Jay is your fav, so now let's move on, well wait.... I'll move on, considering that whenever you post again it'll be about you know who :skip:

The last 3 posts you made directed at me are about me and not the topic, and you claim to not be on my dik? Using high speed internet as an excuse to even take 10 seconds to delve into my posting history as if it had any relevance to the facts I've put up? Whether I have a one-sided view or not is irrelevant considering I've never given you my opinion on the matter, only what actually happened in 98 on record, not what my cousins told me. You can go ahead and move on since you add nothing of value in this thread anyway, you thought they took turns closing the HKL tour, that comment alone indicates you are not knowledgeable on the topic.

The problem with this thread is that DMX fell off, if he was still relevant he wouldn't be looked at with such nostalgia. People here are factoring his album sales from 99 on and his "history making" two #1 albums in the same year like Jay-Z isn't one of the only 10 artists to have achieved that as well.

With all that said, the fact is that since it's debatable, which it clearly is after so many pages, you can't say "DMX ran 98 with an iron fist". Give it to Lauryn, Juvenile or Outkast if you want, the point is DMX wasn't running shyt.

I salute your stannery, you admit to being bias and one sided with your views, you already got sonned by me anyway :umad: not my fault you still living in 1998 and using aol internet, it's easy to view someone's profile, but then again you have 100 or more posts. Now that's my victory speech, go ahead and quote me again acknowledging your L.:smugfavre:

Thats personal opinion not a fact. I'm talking about the success of his album, Damn just stop posting what:

That's fair. It sold well, albeit not a well as the first one. It was a critical disappointment and only spawned one successful single.

Not what I would call a home run - but I see your point.

When did Jay-z release two albums in the same year? If you are counting the R-Kelly album that wasn't a solo album and it didn't get to number one. And in 1998 DMX was the biggest artist in the rap game. He was hot the whole year in 98 Jay didn't drop his album and blow till near the end of the year. By 99 Jay may have had him cause I think that was his peak as far as commercial songs on the radio but DMX was still huge then with And then there was X.

Another post all about me and you're not on my dik? Keep telling yourself that. Go ahead and claim your "W" and post all the emoticons you want, you know you ain't never had shyt on me. At least now we all know you don't know shyt about hip hop, you just want to talk about other forum members.

Vol 3 was released on 12/28/99, but it charted at #1 on 1/15/2000, then he released Dynasty in 10/00, so it counts as having two #1 albums in one year. Here are some references:

"Ten artists have had two different albums hit number one in the same year: The Kingston Trio in 1959,[24][25] Led Zeppelin, DMX, Jay-Z, Garth Brooks, 2Pac, System of a Down, Eminem, Susan Boyle and One Direction."

See, unlike other immature cats who like to just talk shyt about what they heard on the streets or from random family members, I know my hip hop history and can actually back up the facts I present. No opinions or POV.
