Another post all about me and you're not on my dik? Keep telling yourself that. Go ahead and claim your "W" and post all the emoticons you want, you know you ain't never had shyt on me. At least now we all know you don't know shyt about hip hop, you just want to talk about other forum members.

Vol 3 was released on 12/28/99, but it charted at #1 on 1/15/2000, then he released Dynasty in 10/00, so it counts as having two #1 albums in one year. Here are some references:

"Ten artists have had two different albums hit number one in the same year: The Kingston Trio in 1959,[24][25] Led Zeppelin, DMX, Jay-Z, Garth Brooks, 2Pac, System of a Down, Eminem, Susan Boyle and One Direction."

See, unlike other immature cats who like to just talk shyt about what they heard on the streets or from random family members, I know my hip hop history and can actually back up the facts I present. No opinions or POV.

damn you stay postin facts shuttin those clowns down... but we all know they wont let facts get in the way of their great story.

Proof that Jay asked DMX to be on the album? You clearly dont know the politics of record labels... I'm not sayin he didnt, but that could have EASILY been set up by DefJam to get exposure for Crack Man X... again not sayin it was, but the industry works that way...

then they have Jay get on X's next album... think about it

I did put that up it could have been jayz or def jam if u check my earlier post idk just sayin :manny:

Why does no one ever bring it up? It may have charted in 2000. But it was still a 99 release that's why. It wasn't but three days but it was still three days. If they did count it they would have to have an asterisk beside it explaining the difference between when it was released and when it charted. So it doesn't count to me.

No one brings it up because it doesn't really mean anything. When you look at the accomplishments of an artist like Jay, that ranks really low on the list, when you look at an artist like DMX it's really high because there's not much else to highlight.

Actually I haven't heard anybody mention it for anyone besides DMX, except for 2Pac here and there. The DMX fans really see at as a big historical achievement, even though it's really a no-brainer to strike while the iron is hot. Even if the result is lackluster work, which is what some on this thread have mentioned (not me).

Either way, it doesn't have to count in your world for it to be a fact. Jay-Z had two #1 albums in one year. I didn't make it up, that much I'm sure we can agree on.

If it counted best believe it would be counted along with all Jiggas others accomplishments.

LOL @ "DMX having 2 #1 albums is the only thing X fans bring up". How about having 5 Straight #1 albums in a row from his Debut through his 5th LP. His 6th LP actually came in at #2 . This is something Jay didn't do cause both "RD" and "Vol 1" weren't huge hits though they sold, matter a fact nobody in History of Hip Hop has done that.

Quoted for Emphasis... :youngsabo:

Most of that shyt didn't even come from 1998.

"Can I Get A..." with Ja Rule
"Hard Knock Life"
"Ni**a What, Ni**a Who"
"Money Cash Hoes" with X
"Money Ain't a Thing" with Dupri
"Ha" Remix with Juve
"Blackout" with X, The Lox
"4 Alarm Blaze" with MOP
"Lobster and Scrimp" with Timbo

compared to

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DMX_discography(Check X's features in late-97 to whole year of 98) plus dominating the spring-summer with IDAHIH along with Survival of the Illest tour and closing out the winter with a #1 album. Jay had a good year but it wasn't as big as X's Why is it so hard for nikkas to accept?
