The US recruiters are all over Africa right now trying to find the next Lebron or Brady but brehs are only interested in Soccer..its a pity American's are isolated and will never be part of the greatest sport on planet Earth.

I think the false notion that America always has to lead is what hurts the US long term..they simply wont get into something if theyre late to the party.
Americans do have a World Series in Baseball..comprising like 3 countries :mjlol:
This post is almost as ignorant as the "soccer sucks" posts.

The US is not a soccer power because the MLS cannot complete salary wise and prestige wise with the NFL, NBA, and MLB. Why would any American with elite athletic talent chose a sport that requires them to move halfway across the world to capitalize off that talent? Anyone with a brain can see why an American would focus on football, basketball or baseball instead.

The US mens team will always be a mid tier program as long as the MLS pays mid tier salaries

The American jealousy in this thread. The doubling down on ignorant comments. No wonder Trump won in 2016
:damn:

You just know Americans are not going to handle their decline well

False. Dude has been catching hate from some of his countrymen for his entire career because he wasn't as successful with the national team as he was with Barcelona. Argentinian fans are extremely fanatic. Soccer is like a religion over there

Word. He was being called a lazy fukk for not winning a WC already :russ:

Argentina used to have squad in the mid 2000’s. Scola, Nocioni, Delfino, Prigioni and of course Ginobli.

They don’t got it like that anymore but they still finished 2nd at the last FIBA worlds.

And they won the gold medal in 2004.

People love to point out the ignorance Americans have in regards to the popularity of Soccer. But always ignore the insecurities Soccer brehs show.
What’s funny is its guys whose countries don’t win shyt in soccer. Mutherfukkers grew up in Lagos talking about my team is Manchester City. :pachaha: The US washed Morocco 3-0 just prior to the World Cup and it was the only african team worth shyt.:wow:

Nobody is making Americans care about soccer there is already a significant number of people in the country who care about it and it is growing. NBC Sports pay the Premier League BILLIONS of dollars to broadcast games every morning on Saturdays and Sundays starting at 7:30 AM ET (one of the worst time slot for anything) but there is significant demand.

Paramount and CBS sports (American corporations) are paying for broadcasting rights to UEFA (European governing body) to air Champions League games so people in the United States can watch it. So the money is making sense because broadcasting companies and advertisers have recognized that there is enough interest in the sport to pay for this astronomical TV deals beyond World Cup years.

So therefore the narrative that soccer is being pushed on the throats of Americans is non-sense as opposed that there is ample of demand for the sport in the US therefore TV corporations are paying BILLIONS of dollars to gain the exclusive rights to broadcast the games and gaining advertising revenue.

Some of the best US soccer players are Black Americans (Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie who play in England and Italy respectively for their club football) coupled with the interest of children of immigrants whose parents came from already soccer popular countries (i.e countries in Latin America Africa and the Caribbean), the popularity is only growing. So it is not a "white boy" sport, it is a myth.

The sport is not at the level of the big 3 North American league (NBA NFL & MLB) but to say that it is not growing or to make it seem that a significant amount of the American population does not care about the sport or only care about it during the World Cup is simply inaccurate.

The heights
I noticed this on twitter during the World Cup and I want someone to answer this for me why do people from other Countries want Americans to care about the World Cup and soccer? Most Americans would admit that soccer is the most popular sport in the world and American football doesn’t come close when it comes to popularity world wide but here American football is king :yeshrug:
