Yeah I’m sure Americans care about a game compared to be able to set your countries monetary policy. :mjlol: Half the clubs in Europe are going to be owned by Americans.

Recently, a trend has emerged in the English Premier League and in other European leagues where popular football teams were being bought by American investors. Eight of the 20 English Premier League teams are either fully or partially owned by Americans. These eight teams include Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United, three of the most successful and popular clubs in the league. This trend is also observed in other European Leagues: AC Milan, Parma, Fiorentina, and AS Roma of the Italian Serie A, as well as Bordeaux and Marseille of the French Ligue 1, are also fully or partially owned by Americans.

Chelsea FC..which was recently owned by Roman Abramovich who was forced to sell due to being one of Putin’s boys and an oligarch has been bought by American billionaire Todd Boehly.
Unlike other American owners he invests in the club and doesn't use it profits to pay off his US debt like the Glazers.

Problem is he wants to get too involved and turn the English league into something that resembles American sports with play offs and such. Of course he was rebuffed.
He also didn't realize that unlike the US football beefs in Europe are mainly local and not so much regional. Your biggest rival is the other team in the same city more so than one at the other end of the country unless you're actually vying for league supremacy.

It’s a skilled sport but our most physically gifted athletes don’t play. It’s mostly just mexicans and middle class white boys who couldn’t make the cut in other sports.

Facts. Same reason why a CAC is the heavyweight champion in Boxing, because all the best athletes are playing football (NFL that is) and basketball.

Imagine Giannis devoted his entire youth to boxing...or LeBron. :ohlawd:

I remember seeing Twitter babble claiming Beyonce, Drake, LeBron etc are as popular as Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar :mjlol:

These elite futbol players are in another stratosphere entirely when it comes to fame. The only athlete remotely in the same ballpark when it comes to popularity was Ali.

And Jordan.

The origins of the term football comes from games played on the ground and games played on horseback. Rugby, soccer, anything played on the ground was football. The individual designation comes from when it was organized. Soccer comes from the shortening of association soccer. This was what “football” was called officially until the 20th century. That’s why countries colonized by the British, Ireland, Australia, South Africa and America call it soccer. Hell I’m in Japan and they call it Sokka.

The term football has nothing to do with the shape of the ball or way the games played.
They always ignore this for some reason

Not to mention, going by their logic, it should be called kickball

I agree with him. Playoffs are better in any format in every sport rather than round robin and points based.

The fact that English football and European football is dominated by the same 4-5 teams every year largely based on who had the richest ownership is sad. The Champions league and World Cup are visual crack precisely because it’s a playoff format. Where as the tables are just whoever has the most money to buy the best players and manager. Instead of America sports where it’s who has the most intelligent organization.

The #1 thing stopping Americanowners from buying into the premier league more is relegation. No American owner wants to risk their investment by having their team get relegated. I do wish American sports had relegation. Would eliminate all these franchises in the NFL and NBA that do nothing but coast with inferior products.

Its so sad that so many countries havent gotten a taste of a real sport. Soccer is so trash when you think about it.Imagine watching people dribbleb a basketball down the court over and over, lose the handle. And the one time they get a shot up,its a goal tend:laff:
Why don't you try imaging not to using a gun to pressure women into having sex :pacspit:

Manchester United and Liverpool are changing ownership. We aren’t going to be IS owned anymore. Chelsea have recently been though.

That’s business, just proves the popularity.

The US recruiters are all over Africa right now trying to find the next Lebron or Brady but brehs are only interested in Soccer..its a pity American's are isolated and will never be part of the greatest sport on planet Earth.

I think the false notion that America always has to lead is what hurts the US long term..they simply wont get into something if theyre late to the party.
Americans do have a World Series in Baseball..comprising like 3 countries :mjlol:

fukk Soccer!

Yet the NFL makes makes more revenue than any other sport organization in the world, including the EPL :jbhmm:
Again.

32 NFL teams for a country with a population of 300+ million people.

The Premier League is an English product with 20 teams for a population of 55 million people. You then dilute that number with the Conference, League 1 and 2 with an additional 50+ teams for English habitants to support.

You naturally have more people viewing live sport in NFL and will generate more money from game going fans.
